How grown up...TRAVIS said:And yes I like to stir the pot........
So delusional. A raise off your back? That is laughable.TRAVIS said:I have said this before it is my views. and AMFA is not my first choice it's just better that a IAM/TWU choice. The NMB put others in the class and craft and I feel we should not have them in a A&P Union as we are Licensed professionals the key word is LICENSED just like the Pilots have no others and are LICENSED PROFESSIONALS . AMFAinMIAMI is correct to a point it's not that I don't respect other work groups they just don't need to be in the same part of the union voting on my future and wanting the same pay as licensed AMT's because they are in the same union or a union using the AMT'S as a negotiation chip at the table to get them a raise off our backs.
Let me put it in it's proper term (heard it for years) "riding their coattails" I believe is how it's labeled.Zom JFK said:So delusional. A raise off your back? That is laughable.
I don't think those who work the ramp begrudge the mechanics or vice versa. But the for decades, the TWU and IAM leadership have tried to keep the pay gap small between the two work groups. And the reason has always been because the mechanics were the smaller group in both unions. When you are the minority, you don't get to elect your own and have to live under the rule of the majority with practically no voice. THIS IS THE REASON MECHANICS WOULD LIKE TO SEPARATE!AANOTOK said:Let me put it in it's proper term (heard it for years) "riding their coattails" I believe is how it's labeled.
Again, for the many of you AMT's I do respect, I hope you get everything you deserve and more...
For the clowns...I'll keep it to my self... B)
Well said!AANOTOK said:As in any mechanism of society Metal, you are going to have the clowns, jerks, hacks...whatever, and you are going to have the good, honest, loyal etc...types of people. As my above comment mentioned, for those who fit the latter in that comment, I could care less about. For you and others who I do respect, I truly know why you want what you do and I agree and honestly hope you are successful. Peace!
That isn't the 'absolute' issue. Is it?700UW said:Do any of you really think that being on your own will get you more money?
Again, that isn't the 'absolute' issue. If they cut the ramp or CSA or any other jobs, they wont pay the mechanics more.
wash rinse and repeat. How did that EAL strike work out?How did being on your own work out at NW?
So a 'little' scabbing is OK in your 'union' world? And once again ancillary duties didnt break AMFA at NW.
Well stated.MetalMover said:I don't think those who work the ramp begrudge the mechanics or vice versa. It is not because we think we are better than anyone else, but we would like ot have more of a say on issues specifice to mechanics.

I think there is a lot of truth to that. Well said.MetalMover said:I don't think those who work the ramp begrudge the mechanics or vice versa. Not everyone that supports you is a licensed A&P mechanic. I support you and I was a Fleet Service Clerk........ at a maintenance base.AMFAinMIAMI said:Some have said he wanted the IBT now he's switched to support our cause I don't really care he's not like me and the guys who have supported this for many yrs.
Are you a mechanic for AA or US?TRAVIS said:I have said this before it is my views. and AMFA is not my first choice it's just better that a IAM/TWU choice. Travis is not an AMFA organizer or even an AA employee I think so what he says is not what I or other AMFA guys believe, he is like 700UW just here to stir the pot.

Speaking of "well stated," please bust out your pay formula from the way back. It'd say things a lot better than I can, and would do wonders for this thread.xUT said:Well stated.
