The reason there hasn't been a filing any sooner is that CV19 struck which did for several months STOP everything. We could not visit stations around the system as we did in the past. Some of the Organizers themselves ended up in the Hospital both in DFW and TUL. The guys in ORD did wait until the contract was signed to start signing cards. JFK and LGA up in NY area they didn't even have to go to work so card collecting was made harder. In the Past members of AMFA National traveled to stations, CV19 put that to a halt as well. "YES" some guys were hoping that signing cards would FORCE the ASSociation into getting us a contract sooner. Isn't that why they signed the IBT cards before just to rid ourselves of the TWU.
SOME of your membership really doesn't care. That just shows that the TWU failed in the last 30+ yrs to lead & teach what being part of a Union really means.

You are correct it is SAD that the employees of M&R pay dues to the TWU as the Bargaining unit and all they have gotten for that is a LOAD of Crap.
How this is going to all play out will be seen within a Month as I have said, either the cards are there or they are not. Whatever happens I can say I did my part in hopes of making a change.

At ANY Time did you get involved in any way to effect change here in MIA or any other station you might of worked at? If you did, why did you abandon your efforts? And here is a very recent update to that Oct 8th meeting reassuring where the members stand on concessions. Take note how it's the members who have expressed through AMFA representation their stand on concessions. Also take note on how AMFA does not just merely sign NDA's like the industrial unions always do and withhold info from the members. AMFA is and always will be very transparent, that is their way they represent the mechanic and related groups, and you guys can get this very same representation if you all so desire.

To All AMFA Members at Southwest Airlines:

Today, October 15, 2020, your Air Line Representatives (ALR) and legal counsel attended an electronic meeting with the Company. This meeting was requested by the Company to hear AMFA’s response to the concessionary proposal delivered by Southwest last week. That response from your ALR’s was clear, concise and delivered at the outset of today’s meeting. The Company was informed that we, based on overwhelming feedback from AMFA members, are not interested in the Company’s concessionary proposal. In addition, we advised the Company’s team we are not interested in proposals that would open any of our contracts on property for concessionary purposes. As discussed in our previous update, we reiterated our willingness to engage with the Company to consider cost saving measures that do not require concessions to our agreements. We again conveyed the need to bring outsourced maintenance in-house to keep our members employed and engaged. We will be working with AMFA’s economist in the coming days to formulate an information request to better allow us to understand the current state of Southwest’s outsourced maintenance footprint and associated costs. We hope the Company will respond promptly and in full to our information request as now is not the time to hide the ball. The Company may try to muddy the waters by pointing to our position during the first meeting that we would not sign nondisclosure agreements (NDA). That is like comparing apples to oranges. We remain unwilling to sign overly broad NDA’s that would limit our ability to communicate openly and remain transparent with you during these turbulent times. You deserve to know what is occurring. We will, however, consider a narrowly tailored NDA that would allow the AMFA economist to evaluate and analyze, among other things, outsourced maintenance costing data. It is worth repeating that, based on your consistent feedback, we will defend and enforce all three AMFA contracts, which each contain language restricting any reduction in force of our members while Southwest continues to outsource your work. We ask that you continue to remain informed and be wary of furlough fear tactics that will undoubtedly increase as we stand our ground against concessions in the face of the Company’s self-imposed deadline. The solidarity of our members in response to the Company’s recent actions has been incredible. We, as your ALR’s, are grateful for the overwhelming support. Our unity, especially during these times, is our strength.

I love the way you guys try to attack people. You ask questions and then as soon as someone answer. You use that against them. I have only stated my opinion. If that hurt your feelings then that's to bad. I have been reading this BB for a long time. I only decided to make a comment just because of the fact that all of you guy like to try to come across as being sooooooooo intelligent. The biggest problem is most of you are just lonely and pissed off that you made bad decision and now all you have is sitting at home alone and sad because no one likes you. Right now you sound desperate and threatened. I would guess you might be a union officer who is financially threatened by a successful change in union representation. Whatever happens going forward if we get a Ballot just be sure you VOTE, that is the Goal with what we are doing. Bringing the membership a VOICE. Something the TWU has not done. Secondly for me it's more of a personal thing I want the TWU Gone they have since I started in this industry brought our class and craft down everything NEGATIVE that has happened in our industry started here at AA with the TWU.

Actually Gary Peterson is a liar. AMFA DID NOT raid the AA mechanics, and you know this as well. Bret never made a deal with the TWU or the IAM or this asso. He simply told him AMFA National does not have an organizing cmte to do any raids, as they call it. It is in fact the mechanic and related employees at AA that are doing the grass roots card collecting to try and get a vote to bring AMFA in as their class and craft representational organization.
I can assure you I have asked Bret as well as our other National leaders to pls step in and help the AA'ers in their efforts to gain representation by AMFA, and they all have told me that they cannot and will not until the employees have collected the number of cards needed. So until they get the cards needed, AMFA National has nothing to do with the card collections and drives.
Paul Too, I saw Petersons video, and believe me, he is and was pissed off. He also lied knowing anything about an AMFA card drive when in past numerous videos he has mentioned it as well as tried to argue points why the membership should not leave the asso with the Pensions, medical, and outsourcing only to mention a few. He was at one time a big AMFA supporter until the union handed him a position to shut him up permanently and that is how this industrial union handles all their officers that even think about supporting AMFA in order to shut them up.
Now lets breakdown this "deal" that Peterson says they made between the asso and AMFA, hmmmm. Why would there even be a need to make such a deal? Yea, what is the TWU/IAM so afraid of from AMFA?? Why in the world would Peterson go out of his way in order to make a deal with AMFA to not "raid" (as he puts it) his membership??? Really think about this, he and they are so concerned about losing to AMFA as they have over 4 times as of lately and just can't handle another loss to AMFA. Remember back when the employees did the last card drive, Peterson promised to change the industrial unions ways and start running it like AMFA does with observers, elections and more voting by membership, which NEVER came to fruition, not even came close, then all got real quiet after they missed the chance to get a vote last time and still no changes. A classic way they will promise all kinds of changes if the membership keeps AMFA out, but it's all lies in order to keep the membership under their puppet strings, and yes you all will hear the same ole promises again. The time is coming and it's time to step up and do something for your class and craft just like the Pilots, F/A's, Dispatchers and other groups have...

We also have a legal right to replace the union that we were hired on with. That's Democracy. Anything else denying us that right would make it a Communist or Socialistic process.
