AA and Labor Negotiations-2020

didnt Tulsa say that we were very close to a deal 18 months ago? So by that reasoning we are roughly 24 months out. Pay and scope seem like items that are a lot harder to negotiate then bulletin boards. Hope that info is accurate though.

On the positive side, at least we are past the halfway mark. It shouldn’t take 4 years to negotiate those two items.

latest Contract update:
The lawyer with the association that is in negotiations has said we will have a deal very soon.
has early as this coming Wednesday..
Believe it or not but this was straight of of his mouth.
this did not come from the blue fairy..
My concern is: How much did we give up to kill the permanent injunction....

Nothing. That won't be killed by a JCBA.

That will be killed with a permanent Permanent Injunction agreement.

They keep repeating how that situation can never happen again.

that was just a joke that is real life though..

The real leak is we have until FEB 18th to get the deal done.
Or we all will pay for Samuelson's big mouth.
Company agreed to drop charges, I wonder what we gave up for that.
this you can take to the bank....
I know it was a joke ATD. Mine was too and a jab at Timmy's misinformation he keeps spreading.

Southwest Pilots showed up in support. Would have been nice if Pilots would have invited Mechs and F/A's to join in as well.

First I want to thank P Rez for posting the update since my local didn’t even send it out. The only difference I see in this update is that they sent it out during negotiation sessions instead of waiting for them to be over. So in that regard it gives me hope that we are finally moving to a conclusion.
Good point. Never before (I think) have they "posted" an update during nego's. Could very well be a positive. However, still a few, 3 or more items left, don't see a conclusion in these current nego's as they always seem to drag out these last 3-5 biggies for months upon months. Don't get too excited to just get really disappointed.

Well if it's true that we are close to a deal then this pressure from the APA may be the reason. AA wants to get us out of the way for the APA negotiations. So did AA give the Association an ultimatum that if we don't take their last or current deal we will be put on the back burner?
Did the association fold up like a cheap lawn chair? Whatever happened to a INDUSTRY LEADING CONTRACT? We will eventually see the results of over four years of so called negotiations.

You know my quotes of the past. I still say you guys will not be happy come T/A day and it's all released. Said it from the get go.

Someone has posted it's been 4 years and 230 some odd days, that's way closer to 5 years, I really think you guys may take the same time frame we did. Yes an offer might come out to vote on but what if it's voted down? Then, just like us another year to get a second offer, bam 6.5 years until you will "see" monies from your new contract. Same exact playbook as SWA used, identacle.

VO\, what part do you disagree with? Was I wrong on the update in the middle of nego's?

Updating during the negotiations is a good sign but may be only because there have been so many complaints about no info.
However I do believe they are close and they are under pressure to bring back an AIP to vote on.
Maint might very well vote it down but fleet will not. At this point though unless the agreement is just so bad an unacceptable I believe all will vote for whatever comes out.
I’m not optimistic we will get one this week but am a bit more hopeful than I’ve been in the past.

You could say this with every contract since '89, and every contract from now on... This just in, water is wet.

i agree update during the week is unusual. do they worry about complaints about no info up to now? no. why would they start now? are they worried about competition probably. are they close? they are closer every week allegedly.
do i believe them? no.

The Association needs to agree to a TA Today and bring it up for an immediate vote. Things could go south in a hurry of this virus is half as bad as it seems.
