2015 Fleet Service Discussion

6-19 is when all parties should be seated and negotiating WeAAsles. That is what the SIGNED MOU clearly states.
Of course accountability is not the TWU's strong point.
I think they should have been in that room with the company the very next day after certification. You won't get any argument from me on that one.

Coming up on a month since the "certification" and I haven't heard a word about negotiations...just the rumors. The Association is starting out strong...luv it!

"But in no event later than 30 days after certification"

One would think after all that "Training" and "Preparation" they'd be kicking Chugweiser's door in.

I'm hearing we've already been presented with management's "Demands".

The TWU, we put the "Ass" in Association...

Will the Association Negotiation Committee survey the membership, prior to negotiations, regarding
the memberships' priorities in the JCBA negotiations? As in any negotiations... both parties come in with "demands". The Association's first priority is to establish this list of demands going in. This, of course, should be determined by membership input. Let the Democratic process begin... however long it takes.

Again the pattern is clear. JFK. The most disgruntled members are by far majority out of NYC.

Why I keep saying that's it's all about the cost of living there.

So, wouldn't you think the TWU would encourage harmony by agreeing to GEO pay and recommending it STAY in any TA?

It's not the TWU who will be negotiating. It's TWU Presidents and IAM AGC's. If they don't negotiate and support it and the company doesn't agree either, then it's DOA.

Plain as that.

I'm fully aware how things work, WeAAsles....I was referring to negotiations PAST with the TWU and the issue of GEO pay.

You guys have said it before. It's was PRESIDENT'S that didn't agree to it and not the TWU as a structure. Bob even said it. TUL, MIA and ORD disagreed.

The INTERNATIONAL owns the contract........The TWU could have used its constitutional power and make it stick......That is, of course, if they truly wanted ALL locals to support them.
You know, lIke Jim Little making the statement that had the 2003 concessionary contract been rejected, he would have used his CONSTITUTIONAL power to override that no vote.

True but then he would have had other stations that hated him for sticking his nose in if those members received deeper cuts then you guys. "No win situation"

TWU-IAM Association Gears Up For Joint Contract Talks
On the heels of the National Mediation Board’s (NMB) certification of the TWU-IAM Association at American Airlines, the Fleet Service and Mechanic and Related negotiations committees have scheduled bargaining preparations at the Machinists Union’s William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Complex in Hollywood, Maryland the week of July 6, 2015.
“Combining the labor agreements from two different airlines is a complex process, but this reconciliation will be the foundation on which new agreements will be forged,” said TWU International President Harry Lombardo and IAM General Vice President Sito Pantoja in a joint statement. “The Association is eager to complete our preparations so we can get to the table and bargain the contracts our members deserve.”

“It’s largely due to the hard work and past sacrifices of members represented by the Association that American Airlines is now among the most profitable carriers in the world,” continued Pantoja and Lombardo. “It’s time that these dedicated employees share fully in the success they’ve been so instrumental in creating. That simply means the industry’s best labor agreement."
The TWU-IAM Association represents more than 30,000 ground workers at American Airlines and is the largest union at the carrier. The Association’s leadership and membership is anxious to begin joint contract talks so their compensation is directly reflective of the airline’s success.
