It should say:

A.TWU
B. IAM
C. Association
D. Write in

In my opinion that would be the fair and right way.

In no way, shape, or form should it be:

A. Association
B. No Representation

Nor should it default to No representation if you don't choose Association.
What you and I or anyone else for that matter "want" when it comes to this issue now is meaningless. It's completely in the hands of the NMB as to what they'll decide?

It's just my opinion AANOTOK but I think too many people today focus on what they "want" over what they "have" or even "get"? We don't realize that the things we have and get are a lot more than what so many others out there can even dream of. Maybe some of us did work harder for those things and maybe many of us were just lucky and it fell into our laps?

But anyway IF we do get to vote these will be the options from everything I've heard.

A. Association
B. No Representation
C. (Maybe a write in option)

And it won't default to either. Only the votes made will be counted.

I don;t see where NO UNION should be an option. Suppose AMFA, or the IBT for that matter had enough cards for a vote. The ballot would be between the TWU and IBT or the TWU and AMFA...When we did finally get an AMFA vote some years back the choice was between the two. To give us an "association or no union" choice is wrong in my opinion.

From what I understand if there was enough support for a write in option as others have said the two highest vote getter's would have a run off? That could still wind up being the Association against the write in choice?

Right or wrong the next step is up to the NMB?

Right or wrong, there should be a vote of association or NO association. If it is NO, then let the TWU and IAM fight it out.
The association or no union option is similar to this scene from The Godfather:

You know if we're talking about Unions that Luca Brasi is probably part of the family and I'm sure when Tony Bennett is asked to sing even to this day he doesn't turn down the invite.

Anyway I've been told that the Vegas odds are only 5% that we won't have to vote? I'm just betting the long shot Pony.

And Metal you keep saying what you want but again that's on the NMB now period. Would've, should've, could've. we're past that now.

Is the AMFA an option for Fleet?  Or am I in the wrong thread?

I was using AMFA AND the IBT as an example. If another union had enough cards for a vote, the vote would be between the TWU and the union seeking representation. Not THAT union or NO UNION as an option.
Since fleet seems happy with the TWU, then maybe there is another option for you.

Nah I think we'll be fine moving forward? But thanks for thinking about us Metal. Actually on this thread it's the IAM and TWU.

I thought I would add my $.02 because it seems fleet doesn't know of any other option other than the TWU.

So do you expect me to become an association or TWU cheerleader now? Not gonna happen WeAAsles.
You need to realize there are a lot of mechanics like me who will never be happy with the TWU. Marrying  them to another loser union the IAM only increases my disdain for them.

Well we know AMFA is definitely not a fleet option.

Someone tried to start an independent Union called the AGW once. No one was interested. Fleet at US has and likes the IAM. They had an overwhelming vote in both there TA and there District elections. You're barking up the wrong tree for those guys. As for the TWU at AA we don't have the same type of grumblings you guys have. And before you go off on how much better we have it, from what I read you make (currently) $36.00 per hour with your licenses. (We make $23.00) so at least right now not counting all the extra's you make $75,000 per year. (We make $48,000)

Now in 4 more months we'll go up to at least $24.50 (I'm still thinking it should be $25.00 by my understanding of the AA side of the language?) Have you figured out the math for your group yet for the averaging?

I saw Chuck came up with $43.56? I'm guessing that's with your Licenses? The BASE I get in my math is $38.44. Well let's stick with Chuck's numbers because he's very smart. So not counting all of the extra's if you get that 7% your yearly base with licenses comes out to $90,604

Yea I guess if you guys get to that $90,604 (Well over $100,000 with benefits, not counting OT) that disdain absolutely should be carried with you all the way till the preacher is saying that prayer over your dirt hole?
