2015 AMT Discussion

Buck I am not making a personal attack.  I was referring to Parker as a moron in an earlier post not you.  I guess I should have made it more clear I was referring to him.  My apologies.  You are right that if I don't like things I can hit the gate and keep going, but how does that make it better for those to come after us?  I feel we need to demand the respect from management we deserve and to also make this job something the next generation can raise a family while doing and also have confidence that they will have a decent retirement.  What I am talking about is us becoming the Anti-A Scalers.  Maybe we need T-Shirts.
First you need to fix the mechanics first.....

From Local 514 president Dale Danker:

Letter from the President

I have been getting many questions from members, I would like to address them.

Question:

When are we going to start negotiating with American Airlines?

Answer:

That answer is unknown at this time.

However,

The work to reconcile all the contracts has been accomplished and that information is in the hands of the International TWU/IAM Associations leadership. I will travel to Washington D.C. on November 10th to have a meeting with President Harry Lombardo to discuss Negotiations. This meeting will be attended by all American Airlines, TWU Local Presidents. I will report back to the membership the outcome of those discussions at the November 16th Joint Membership meeting.

Question:

What are we asking for?

Answer:

More of everything that is good and less of those things that were forced on us through bankruptcy.

We sent out surveys to all title groups. The results of that information was taken by myself to all 6 meetings of the Association reconciliations.

It is my belief as your voice on this team that we do not want to hand over the play book to our opponents.

So I get asked What are we asking for? Simply put, we are asking for everything and then some. I just want you to know that it is not an appropriate negotiation technique to advertise everything that is in our proposals. I know what you want and I am fighting to get it.

Question:

Where are we at with the prefunding match for retiree medical?

Answer:

Currently our International ATD Reps. are waiting to hear the final decision on this very issue that the APFA took to arbitration. It would be prudent to know the outcome of that case prior to our arbitration in this matter. On the APFA website they expect the arbitrators final decision to be made by the end of December 2015. (Reference)

Question:

We hear that there are leadership changes at the ATD?

Answer:

I received a phone call on Monday November 2nd, from AA system Coordinator David Virella. He informed me that he is retiring November 28th. Also the TWU LTD and STD insurance administrator position held by Cara Steelman has been taken over by Union Benefits Planner. There will be a new coordinator but at this time it has not been determined who that will be.

Is the ATD Director Garry Drummond retiring?

I do not have any official announcement to date.

All Together with One Voice,

Dale

WTF " we do not want to hand over the play book to our opponents" hey mr Danker do you have any clue of what you are doing. Our playbook should be plastered all over everywhere, this is a Company making Billions you idiot. we give nothing back and ask for more why do you need a playbook. we are totally F&^c#ed.

He does not want to disclose that the mandatory enrollment of the IAMPF is in the proposal. Beware of the sugar coating that is coming.

The mere fact that he didn't address the IAMNPF in this little Q/A, tells me all I need to know ,
Get ready kids, they are going to shovel it down our throat.

The last update put out by the TWU was our case would be heard/arbitrated Nov.17-18 by the same arbitrator that heard the FA case.
What is this waiting on the APFA outcome. That's not until at least December. Have the canceled the Nov. case.

The IAMNPF affects Dale Danker as it affects the rest of us.  He said earlier that he would not agree to any deal that included the IAMNPF.  Gotta take a man at his word until he breaks it.  He hasn't done anything yet that he said he wouldn't.  I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

That's the problem. We are all focused on the money part. Double time, holidays & the Delta plus whatever it will be. This is happening at work and on this forum. We need to stop and think about the entire package. Remember that both unions have contracts in place and the company is not forced to negotiate anything until our contracts become anendable. This is not like section 6 openers. We the association have to tread lightly or else the company can just say see you in 2017. What we do not want is to give into a long term contract in exchange for money and concessions. We need snap back me too clauses. Especially if we get a 5 year or longer contract. Right now the IAM boys have their double time and 10 holidays. Their IAMPF contributions are continuing and they just got a raise of nearly $10 an hour. They are better off right now than we are. We are desperate and pissed off. This is where we will screw ourselves. This is why I trust nothing that the TWU, IAM or the Association says.

Wonder why Danker didn't address the equity. I think at the June or July meeting he expected all appeals should be over by September. And distribution to follow. Now nobody from Union brings it up.

Historically every Local 514 President that has negotiated for our contracts have campaigned on positive aspects for the membership as a whole. But in the end they roll over and yield to whatever the company needs or wants. I would feel lucky if everything stayed the same, but I do want what they are promising, at least Delta or United wages.

I wrote Dale Danker an E-Mail asking about the Stock, he just invited me to the union meetings, where he said he goes over that subject several times a day.
So, in reality he just goes over once every 30 days just like the way the negotiation committee is handling things.

Are these the updates you guys are getting?  Holy freakin shite!  That is freakin re-dick-u-lus.  They don't want to let out to the co what the union is wanting. Hey dumb-a$$ nego's you are suppose to let them know this at the table while nego.  You guys are correct there going to be too many secrets come to light when this is all said and done. Just more behind door deals done behind closed doors.  How fukin pathetic you guys are represented. But, guess what? You all wanted to keep them...
