Stop paying dues would get you fired, and stop fist-pumping like all the others!

Can the ASSociation have Duty of Fair Representation brought against it?

What does it take for an individual to be successful in a pension?
Success:
* Start your employment at 18 years of age.
* Work in the same union job, at the same company for the next 44 years.
* Retire "early" at 62 years of age.
* Pray each day for the next 4 or more years, or until you reach your Social Security retirement date that they don't cut your benefits.

I heard something similar but that the exchange of proposals would be more to show that they opened talks. No substantative bargaining will occur during the holiday season. There will be Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Festivus, and other holidays I missed so no talks in December.

Industry Leading Contract 2016!!! It's coming! Get ready for riches!
Hold it !!

"Get ready for riches"???

That's a new one.

What about "buckets of cash"?

How about "huge increase in the pension"?

I believe it was Doug Parker who said,  ( paraphrasing ) " there are a lot of good things in it for the mechanics"

there is a fleet service thread go there please.
If a majority of the mechanics became upset enough to file an DFR then I believe by then, the other Title Groups would also be upset.

If a large majority of the membership were to stop paying dues then what would the union do

Anyone attend last weeks 514 membership meeting?. D Danker said for all title 1s to be ready for a possible 230 heads bumping into Tulsa. Said it wasnt in stone but we need to be prepared. Warn letters may be distributed November.
Rumors, I REPEAT RUMORS from 2 of our local Eboard members saying 1000-1200 will be announced June or July. Although I hate rumors .. I am very curious if others have heard the same. I said rumors told by 2 Eboarders so don't crucify the messenger FFS. Said it would hit the 80's seniority title 1s. (I havent looked up or calculated 1200 from the title 1 seniority list to say if it would hit in the 80's yet). I asked other Eboarders and got the runaround. So if it's not true I'd like to squash it immediately. I also asked management and they are predicting year 2017 at the latest is when it will hit title 1s the hardest. So now that I've asked the TWU and AA ...what does the new ASSociation say? Lemme take a gander and say they're just as clueless, nontransparent and crooked as the TWU & AA combined!!??

Eboard members shouldn't repeat or spread rumors, they are degrading their own standing. Union officials should only say what is FACT !!!!

It's just hard for them to say no.  I'm sure they (the ones showing up to work) are constantly being asked about the latest developments and they are obliged/mandated to say something to get these people off their backs.  There may be no truth to what they're saying but they'll say it anyway.  Pretty irresponsible as stated above.

Fear, rumors and speculation is what the TWU is great at letting happen. This keeps them here at AA.

They hear all the bs on the floor yet they say nothing.

Negotiations have not started so why the silence? Some one at 591, 514 should know something or we all would think they should.

Has the code of silence now filtered down to the Local levels of the unions to the guys we do have some say about being in office. I would bet that when they were running for office alot was said about the old officers and how we as a new group will work for you.

How well has that worked for us? We are still in the dark with the Prefunding, Stock, and now what the association leaders are talking about which is going to effect us ALL. Both the IAM/TWU association teams have told you what? We are planning on meeting again?

Being prepared to adjust your life due to station closings, work being farmed out, relocating to Northern cities putting kids in schools. All are family disruptions, part of the industry "YES" but just how long are we supposed to do that unknown to our families?

Elections will be coming sometime soon what is going to be the talk then from these guy's?
What will be the bs of the challengers if there are any, or Will these guy's just run
unopposed?

So rather than just going to the tool room and getting the 1 Gallon white bucket and taking two scoops, what are you willing to do to force the TWU to let us the supposed union (since that is what they preach) have a voice in our careers and our families future?,

Could it be that the union and company are getting ready for the offers to start flying across the table and they are gearing up for a "save the jobs" campaign?  It seems to me that they do this all the time. The co and the union (TWU especially) will say 400 jobs will be gone at Tulsa (this would be the scare tactics)  then all of a sudden the TWU reports that they widdled it down to 120 and that they saved the jobs when it fact it was a ploy the entire time knowing there was only going to be 120 job losses from the get go.  Just another way that the TWU works to make it look like they saved hundreds upon hundreds of jobs when they really just agreed with the company to let go of jobs.  Pretty sure you guys will start hearing soon the "save the jobs" campaign on this up coming contract offer...
