2015 AMT Discussion

AA has 14,000 mechanics for 900 airplanes, WN has what 2,300 for 700 airplanes.

Do the math its very simple.
14,000? Really?   Latest AMT count is 7434. Please share with us whose arse you pulled this number out from?

Just go back to your own thread, nobody here cares about the opinion of a Fleet Service Clerk regarding AMT negotiations.  Especially, considering the fact it was like minded clerks that have back stabbed AA's AMTs in the past.
Considering I have shown support for your work group and your efforts to instate AMFA I will assume that is not directed at ALL Fleet Service Clerks.

I cannot speak for Vort, but we all know there are those from other title groups that attempt to dominate, control and shape the AMT discussion/ narrative and then tell us what's good for us as a group. Then, when they are called out on their uninformed manipulation of the thread, they return with obnoxious comments in an attempt to belittle.  In light of the fact these posters have little to no knowledge about anything entailed with being an Airline Mechanic, this interference with the discussion is offensive to me and I believe others as well.

There are also those that add to the thread and make no attempt to manipulate and control it. In my viewpoint, have a nice day and welcome to the discussion.

Guess someone forgot the US side has about 4,000 mechanics.

And your forgot GSE and Plant.

It's funny how WN is used as a comparison when something needs to be taken away but not when something needs to be given. AA did not compare themselves to WN when the "Industry Average" was conceived. I guess they are not part of the industry.
Gman you are seeing how the TWU International trains the fleet service clerks who negotiate the AMT contracts.  You see?  If you can justify the other group taking less, you can get more.  That is why we are the lowest paid in the industry.  AA fleet service and stores aren't though are they?  Of course not all fleet service agrees with this tactic but the problem is all the fleet service clerks in the TWU international do agree with it and keep pushing it.  If we had guys like AANOTOK in the international we would not have a problem.  He gets it and he's an old school union guy.  Doyle claims to be but we will see won't we?

Funny all except one are mechanics from the AA side and that's because the mechanic presidents couldn't choose a leader amongst themselves.

700 you have been at negotiator in the past doesn't the company have separate budgets for fleet and AMTS and you can't "cross over" the dollars

I'm not wishing this on you I personally think you are skilled and should be compensated such. But do the math 14,000  for 900 A/C as opposed to 2,300 for 700 A/C in a competitive business
Where the hell you get 14000 mechanics?  Research before you post. Wow...

And your point is? Let's just be thankful that SWA doesn't have you on their payroll.
Thank FREAKIN GOD...

And WN outsources 73% of their maintenance and only does four lines of C's in-house.

You fail once again at your spin.
NO, YOU FAIL. SWA does NOT outsource 73%-DEAD wrong chief. Only 4 lines of C checks in hous?  WRONG again dum as. YOU actually failed at your spin!! I am done telling you how many A/C and mechanics we have, I am also done in telling you how many lines of maint we have. Educate yourself before you post. You still look like an idiot...

Oh I get it alright; however, that has been the way SWA has operated from their beginning.  Good for them bringing in more overhaul maintenance.  Look, we didn't hire on to sacrifice making less - so more could be employed - that shouldn't be our problem.   Only a scumbag union would attempt to lay that guilt trip on us!
Correct. Our union has been very successful in bringing in more and more maint since taking over from the teamsters.  Not to mention all the back shop work that has been brought in. AMFA has been very successful in doubling if not tripling the lines of maint in Dallas. Our C-check lines are growing and have been growing for a long time. Added maint lines are going into DEN, LAX, BWI, and HOU as we speak. Ask if any other union has brought in so many lines of maint within this amount of time period anywhere.  HELLO 700, get your information before you post, you continue to look like an idiot...

Old guy one more time. We ARE currently the lowest paid in the industry in Fleet compared to Delta, United and Southwest.

Don't know why I have to keep telling you that?

Calm down before you stroke out I was merely telling my fellow AA employees that if they wanted SW, UPS and Fed Ex pay they would likely have to accept their work rules for AA to stay competitive and not file for bankruptcy again that's all. If you have a formula where they can get industry leading pay and their work rules remain the same and AA can be competitive please bring it to their attention so they can tell their negotiators. In the mean direct your energy to your own negotiations

Burger Joint  "A" and  "B" are identical Burger Joint "A" pays their 5 employees $5 per hour Burger Joint "B" pays their 10 employees  $5 per hour which Burger joint has the competitive advantage? Tomorrow I will bring in flash cards and stickers

I won't bother you guys I give up my head is spinning good luck with negotiations

So WN is lying to the SEC?

According to WN's 10k it clearly states 2,300 mechanics.

And according to the FAA WN outsources 73% of maintenance, so is WN lying to the DOT, DOJ, BLS, SEC and the FAA?

Will those be Association flash cards and stickers because you sound like an international Union executive trying to prime the pump for more jobs for concessions!

I am so sick of these"lower your expectations" a holes. Why don't they just go away and lower the expectations of their own lav dumper bag thrower guys?

Yes there are separate budgets, and each department is very diligent when it comes to not crossing over dollars.

Each department submits its own budget to Finance every year.
