As some have mentioned, not much posting from west pilots lately. Not much from east pilots either other than "chest-pounding", with no factual information to back-up their claims...so I guess both sides are even.
Yea, That's my take from the PowerPoint presentation also, were even.

Oh no! Not the dreaded two finger poke. That means the end of life on earth as we know it!

Indeed! Not only the paired poke, but the infamous "you'se" as well! Hmm...Come to think on it a bit; one could actually make some argument for the disintegration of civilized society as we've known it. 😉

AWAPPA Lamentations and tales of woe and misery: "In short, the presentation describes the proverbial "island" the PHX domicile has become.......... At the close of the meeting, Captain Hale promised David to research the issues presented and provide him some answers within a few weeks. Unfortunately, since that April 8 meeting, life on the "island" has continued to degrade significantly. ........
Additionally, there is no relief to come, as many long-time West check airmen have recently resigned allegedly due to their degrading working conditions in the Training Department (the only department still lead by an East pilot). While conditions continue to deteriorate to unprecedented levels on the PHX island, both the East and the AA sides of the company continue to be flush with record movement and hiring. While the lack of movement may affect some of our pilots more than others, the most concerning bit about this situation is the potential weapon that it creates for use against us by both USAPA and APA in the McCaskill-Bond seniority integration process."

"...so I guess both sides are even." Umm...Sure thing, oh noble "knight" of "sparta". It's fully understandable that you're now so graciously willing to "call it a draw". 😉 Consider just how very different the working world might now look to "you'se" had your group scored even a little bit higher on the "plays well with others" grades...?

Yeah, even. Right.

Barrister put out quite a few facts, off the top of his head. Dead on. I guess you missed them.

Let me add a couple more off the top of my head. Go read the Nicolau opinion. In it, he lists the staffing of east and west. Do some math and see if you can understand how understaffed the east was prior to the merger. The 190 and 757 IOUs were contingent on the combined east/west list. That never happened and with the MOU, they became a null and void. Thank your lucky stars as under the TA the E190 would have counted towards your min block hours. But, the bottom line is that it was "Nic or Nothing!" As you wish.

I wonder if it ever occurred to F/O Braid that his presentation basically called Mr. Kirby and Mr. Isom idiots. His claim is that for 7 years they let Captain Bular and Captain Hogg pull their strings just to benefit east pilots. Now every east pilot I know finds that laughable, but doesn't he understand that they didn't have that kind of power? The bottom line is that former AWA guys are at the top and the buck stopped with them. They brought Mr. Isom in for the ops guy and I, and a lot of other people, think he is one of the best COOs in the business. I'm guessing Capt Hale didn't walk into his office and say "Hey Robert, do you know what a lousy job you guys have been doing..."

The west has the power right now to change their situation. Write, present and pass a resolution at your next council meeting directing your reps to accept DOH with conditions and restrictions and to put it out to your group for a vote to accept. That's a fact.

It would pass on the west, and six months from now you could be participating in a east/west system wide bid. Another fact.

Do nothing out west, and three years from now you will still be on the island in Phoenix. Fact number three.

Exactly. Captain Hale will do exactly as Mr. Parker says. america west pilots, Mr. Parker has his new best buds, AA pilots. america west pilots have served their purpose, now they will be discarded. They served Franke in Australia, Parker in east separate ops, now they are parked in PHX. Surprise F/O Braid. You were just another tool for Parker. Wear your 675 dollar tie, and know you were a whore for your CEO. As well as Marty. The tie is a modern day scarlet letter. You wear it well.
The minute you walked out of Hales office, and he closed the door- Campbell and Hale shared a very strange look between themselves. They now know know first hand what a weird little band you are.

Why would you even let them compromise and accept DOH? Let it play out for a few more years. That is good for you and Parker.

I have to differ there. Whatever the degree of long-established and amazingly infantile idiocy displayed by the self-styled "spartans", "battle"-tested-"knights", "dire wolves", "wizards", "soldiers" ad nauseam...well...they're still workers of the same craft and..umm..."class", and should be afforded their proper positions via DOH....Not that the mighty "army of leonidas" has within it's ranks sufficient cerebral substance to see any benefits to accepting that. Having said that as an issue of principle; the idea of flying the fairly short remainder of my airline career in a "spartan"-free cockpit fails to overly distress, and I've not nearly enough lint rollers to ever even begin to want to deal with "dire wolves" anyway. 😉

Ooooo... are you saying the West is in a position to negotiate, but one that is much weaker than the position they held at Wye River?

I believe that comes under the heading of "All the risk lies with the west."...or is it "Life is like a box of chocolates. Ya' never know what you're gonna' git", or perhaps more properly just "Stupid is as Stupid does"...?

I'd imagine that much is safe to assume.

where is good ole Res with a fire and brimstone prediction about how you "east scabs" are going to get yours?

the silence is deafening

West pilots need to rise up against the little AOL group, they have damaged your career, senior pilots have been held back form wide body slots and F/Os prevented from upgrading. How much longer will you let this happen, how much more money will go to waste to buying stupid ties and paying Marty. Ferguson and Koontnz have been lying to you for too long now. Every west pilot with half a brain knows it's finished.

"Thanks for taking the time to put that together and making the trip. It tells us a lot. More than you can know..."
