If they don't agree to a FAIR evaluation what does that tell all the members on BOTH sides?
This is not a contest. This is an agreement that needs to be entered into with fairness, truthfulness and trust.
It is extremely easy for the company to double check there numbers for any date if asked.
wouldnt the exchange of seniority list, due?
Also, lets say they cant resolve the dispute, doesnt the agreement recognize arbitrated settlements?

Btw not sure what happened on that reply to a roa post but i said that the voter turnout in clt for district elections was good for all of us,regardless of who got the most votes.

I'll admit guys that I'm friends with the TWU President of BOS. He's a good man and honest as the day is long. He loves and cares for his members like a Lion caring for his cubs. He even came up and joined the IAM guys when they were picketing the company for a fair shake. This was even after some rotten apples were laughing at him because he was going to lose his Union. Real classy huh? Well now he's made some good relations on your side and even some of your guys realize that this kid is alright.

GIVE HIM HIS NUMBERS!!!!!

I told him after you see the count if it's in the IAM favor, that's it. You move on and become the best sportsman a man can be. If it's in his favor then give the man back his station. He's a 3 term President and earned his members loyalty.

And if it winds up being dead even then you flip a coin and the coin calls it. Both sides shake hands and move forward.

Let me ask you guys who read on this page who are in leadership positions. If you were him wouldn't you want a fair shake as well????

I here ya, I'm not trying to start a debate with ya. I understand what your saying. But these decisions will be made at the top of both unions I'm sure. All I'm saying is it seems a little bit to me like crying over spilt milk. Nobody forced the TWU to sign the original agreement. If they didn't like something IMO they shouldn't have signed. Hell they already had the numbers for any election, so they didn't have to sign anything. But I would think they will work something out.
CB you do know that only 2 Presidents were in on those discussions right. And THANK GOD we didn't do that stupid election and spend years fighting against each other. Might as well put some more stakes in the labor movement while we're at it.

Fighting amongst UNIONS is STUPID. I don't like or do stupid.

Yes but I would like to see this resolved without having to go to that route? Men should be able to solve their issues between each other. Especially UNION men!

Yes you are absolutely correct that I would want a fair shake. But I would have made sure my fair shake was before the agreement was signed!! I would have made all my arguments then!! I don't know this guy. Not saying he's not a great union guy. But can you tell me why he didn't raise his points back when the agreement was done?

I only knew who was there for the IAM. I didn't know how many presidents for the TWU had there. And I'm glad we didn't have to have the election either. My point was the TWU had the numbers for an election. The IAM didn't. It would seem to me those two presidents were holding all the cards. Or most of them anyway.

CB he did raise objections AFTER he was thrown under the bus. He was just given the bums rush and told don't worry about it man we'll find something for you. The old regime wanted to buy him off and he told them to kiss his ass.

AGC's are a little different it seems? You may lose a few stations under your belt but you still hold your positions and your jobs by representing many stations. This guy represents ONE! And the old Leadership didn't even have the decency or courtesy to tell this man that they were going to big time F him.

That's wrong in too many ways for me to think about and it's bugged me as well for a long time. And it doesn't even have anything to do with me. No affect whatsoever. I just want to see honesty for a change and not have this be about freakin dues! Isn't this association supposed to be about more than that?

CB I'll give you my number and you can call me anytime and I'll answer all your questions as HONEST as possible. You already know I talk to a few of the other guys already and you can ask them if they think I'm a BSer?

Yes it suppose to be more than about that. And yes I know the setup of the unions are different. Local Presidents vs AGC,s. But if this guy was a local president, why didn't he have just as much clout as the two that went. If your saying you believe he was stabbed in the back by his own guys, then I feel for the guy. Just saying it was his guys that did that. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm just not sure that agreement will be opened back up as far as changing any cities.

Lol. I don't think your a BSer!! You seem to me like a very educated union member and I enjoy your post, and appreciate your input on here for everyone. Maybe you guys just had the wrong two presidents negotiating this alliance for you.

They stabbed him in the back when they didn't count ALL of his members which according to him would have given it to him by 1 guy. ONE guy!

He was stabbed in the back because he's a pain in the ass and he doesn't always go along with the program people want to script. And I've come to call that pain in the ass my friend.

No we had a guy who didn't involve the members in HIS decisions and that's why now he's back on the ramp and turning a wrench again. Not saying his motivations weren't right but this is a Union isn't it? Not a dictatorship.

Yes, the issue with the charters was that the company( can't think of name right now) where the plane is now being parked requires their employees to work anything parked there. However the last time I checked, our guys were still going over and getting paid the overtime just as if they were working it. I'm back in the office on Monday, going to check on the issue.
I talked to a Wilson employee and US isn't send fleet over at all on the last four charters.

I here ya. Like I said. I'm sure he's a great union leader, and I feel for him. But just don't think it's the IAM,s issue for something his own union did to him. If the IAM agrees to open up Bos, then won't that give any other city that was close either way whether it went IAM or TWU a right to the same argument!! Just saying IMO You would be opening a can of worms by allowing this to be reopened. There are people on both sides that aren't really happy going to the TWU. I'm sure there are other cities not happy about going IAM. But it's done! It's signed! Let's move on and get to negotiating for our members!
