Well, we complained about lobby reform for decades and now we have it...
They made it worse. No doubt the lobbyists run the country, regardless of political affiliation. DemoRats love it, RepubliRats love it as well.

Politicians are not acting in our best interests, haven't for many years.
Get rid of lobbyists, in 'all' forms is the answer.

Let's compare Holidays and compensation. Let's compare sick time accrual and compensation policies. A review of attendance policies from one carrier to the other needs to be brought to the light. The floor is open to any AA TWU member to provide factual information. I'm certain there is a gap between carriers on both issues. These are the gaps that need to be addressed in JCBA talks. These are the gaps that need to be brought to the attention of all the members. Let's exercise due diligence before we decide what needs to be fixed. One issue (Article) at a time. The floor is open to input.
Before the 2003 concessions we had 12 sick days and 10 Holidays paid at double time and a half. Currently since 03 it's 5 sick days and 5 Holidays paid at time and a half.

I'm sure there will be improvements in this area. Especially on your major Holidays because the lost time on those days is through the roof. They do try to reprimand people for taking off on those Holidays but members don't really care and that will continue unless there are better enticements for people to want to come in instead of being home with there families. Basically money talks and threats are ignored.

The Holiday improvements in the recent UAL contract is something we need to keep as a reminder in talks. Many things we will need to concentrate on. Items that are given in the industry and even things that may be popular outside our industry too.

I want increased job security , that's my number one concern , followed by at least two more holidays. ..

We didn't get two more holidays with this last contact and that was important to me ....

2 more? Nothing personal Freedom but you're a pretty cheap date. I'm quite a bit more expensive than that.

Well as long as our wages continue to adjust for inflation I'm happy..

But like I said I really want two more holidays. ..And as far as the sick days go , I'm still in favor of the first day at half pay, discourages people from faking out for a week during the holidays. ..

It actually encourages people to use more sick time - at least in my experience.

Ok you just really lost me man. You've officially lost my endorsement to be a part of the NC. You're reminding me of one of those late night floozy's I used to pick up back in the days when I used to drink too much.

You have to know Freedumb on the Transition Agreement voted for it gloated about all the money he was going to get and threw his coworkers under the bus at numerous stations got outsourced.

All the PMUS people were telling him and other PMHP people that would happen if he voted for the money.

Well the guy better wise up because we have some pretty senior people over here on our side. You throw someone under the bus because you think you're Mr Pretty Boy Protected and I can promise you you're not and someone out there just might want to knock you down a peg or two.

Basically you keep chopping someone's legs out from under them and eventually you might find your own Johnson cut off.

OK!  Let's break clean and go back to our corners folks. I would like to see this discussion remain free from personal attacks. We AAsles. Concerning holiday compensation. Are those not scheduled to work the holiday compensated 8 hours holiday pay? We need to draw a comprehensive comparison on the gaps between AA's and US's CBAs. Let's bring these comparisons to the light of the membership's review. Many members view this forum daily who are not registered members of this forum. Let's get the facts out there in an effort to educate the membership as we enter into JCBA negotiations. As always... thank you for your input.

At AA you have to work the actual holiday to get holiday pay, if your off you do not get anything. This year Christmas and New Years are on Thursdays along with Thanksgiving. If your off on Thursdays you loose out on 3 of 5 holidays this year. Our holiday pay is 1.5X so for some people being home with family is worth more than the extra 4hrs pay. That's why 300 people call in sick on Christmas day.
