Take it easy.  I can see why you would vote for this, I would too if I were in JAX.  But the NC fell far short of everything they said they were locked and loaded on.  Pretty much looked like they just packed it in.  The scope was a wash. It only goes to the joint talks, it exchanges 8 small stations in return for 12 mid stations that now will open up their work to TWU, and restricts insourcing of two stations.  I'd say that Ole AH came out ahead on that headcount.

Nothing else was addressed as stated other than they got topped out folks a wage increase and a very fair pay parity. Retirement blows, and the health care bomb is clear and future.  You guys keep saying not to pay attention to it and how it won't affect anything but they certainly didn't convince Ole AH that it wouldn't matter.  Not even a cap negotiated.  I'm not arguing with you, and there is no reason for you to take personal shots, this contract will be voted in.  But JN is right and is 'spot on'.  One doesn't have to be the watchmaker to be able to tell time.  The witness to the NC work is the TA.  Like I said, I couldn't imagine anyone in JAX voting No.  But ORD and 11 other stations that had scope are now open to other unions doing our work.  That's far different than JAX.
The minute they start doing your work Tim you are guaranteed not to be displaced. You're right... the issues in JAX and ORD are very different. I believe this agreement protects existing US Fleet Service jobs in both stations. Survey results had Scope as number 1 and wage as number 2. After that the membership survey results were diluted. Did we get everything we deserve? No! I do believe, however, this agreement is a good bridge and first step as we enter into JCBA negotiations.

Tim has become awfully quiet? I hope we're not going to lose his participation on the thread now?

My guess is that he is waiting for the final totals and considering a legal challenge based upon the ballot screw-up and other issues... I am guessing the probability of Tim making a formal legal to the election results are better than the percentage of "Yes" voters on the new T.A.

On a sidenote, I am hearing that some PHX rampers submitted a written request for absentee ballots which were never delivered, but an apology letter was sent with some explanation that 3 months wasn't enough time to process the request... really???

Jester,

That is bs. The Local Lodge gets the requests in over a period of time and they save them until it is time to mail out. Requests must be received by 30 days before the vote and then the Local lodge verifies the request and about 2 weeks before vote mails them out. If you had your request in before the 30 day cut off and your reason was verified, you get a ballot. Sounds as if some people are telling a tall story.

When is he going to stop struggling and bleeding on the cross about other unions doing "Your work"?

It's ALL going to be AAL work soon enough.

Pat just wanted to say congratulations on your reelection. Obviously you do good work for your members and they recognized that and want to continue on with your services.

Good show.

So has the NMB announced a vote yet for the New AA Agents?

How is that campaign going?

Always gotta look at leverage.  Unfortunately, the IAM negotiators mortgaged future leverage by going straight to cross utilization and bypassing even a fence agreement.  The company can tap into those synergies immediately and get a "Two for One".  Anyone thinking that the AGC's are correct and that joint talks will be a walk in the park with money tossed to the TWU and IAM is in wonderland.  If I'm the company, I honestly don't see any reason to even give a dime more without getting more concessions from the IAM.  But with the health care concession already in hand, not sure what else the IAM would be willing to cough up to get the hubs another $1 raise.  The company knows it has the TWU whose members are dying and begging for a joint contract.  So the company knew it needed to do the 'dip' in scope down to 1 flight a day because it knew it could raise that to 15+ flights a day since that would be a gain for the TWU.  The company is no fool.  Losers in all of this......small stations if there is a joint contract.   TWU if there isn't.
