1st Q Numbers look great!

Great start to the 4thQ.  Only 1/2 month without W/A.  Should get even better.  Keep the good numbers coming in;

8:50 am Southwest Air reports October traffic; RPM +4.4%; ASMs flat (LUV) : Co announced that the Company flew 9.0 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in October 2014, a 4.4 percent increase from the 8.6 billion RPMs flown in October 2013. Available seat miles (ASMs) remained relatively flat compared to the October 2013 level of 10.8 billion. The October 2014 load factor was 83.1 percent, compared to 79.9 percent in October 2013. For October 2014, passenger revenue per ASM :)PRASM) is estimated to have increased in the three to four percent range, compared to October 2013.[/size]
interestingly WN's RASM growth is now expected to be in line with the legacy carriers and not above it as it has been.

awesome job  keep up the terrific work!
Thx robbed.  Here's some more great news for DAL LF as well as other future growth in 2015 internationally;

Southwest Airlines to focus 2015 domestic growth on Love Field

Southwest Expects to Boost Capacity 6% in 2015

Southwest Airlines posts record October loads, American Airlines shows slight drop

Southwest Airlines adds BWI-to-Los Cabos flight

Just some more really great news for the future to come.  Keep up the great work SWA and employees!!!  I really believe the next 5-10 years are looking very well for us all...
BTW, our stock is looking very healthy as well and should continue to grow for some time.  LUV hearing all this positive news, so tired of the negative and depressive news of the past.  Here we grow again...

BWI to SJD will be quite a long flight.

you do realize that airline stocks have all rebounded quite nicely now that Americans and Wall Street realized that the paranoia with Ebola was vastly overblown?

you didn't explain why WN's RASM growth is now in line with instead of far above the legacy carrier's like it has been.

any time bro     swamt  it appears that BWI is WN prime INTL gateway   Do u know if WN is also going to use other cities such as LAX for INTL places?

robbed, WN just announced a flight from SNA to Mexico.

It does appear that WN will focus its int'l ops on BWI, HOU, and FLL with a few routes thrown in elsewhere. it is good to see WN developing its int'l network and I am particularly looking forward to their HOU and FLL announcements because those cities have large ethnic populations and geography that will favor flights deep into Latin America.

in the meantime, BWI will be a great point from which you will be able to see more int'l traffic than your airport has seen in a good long time. BWI's favorable geography in the NE and their large domestic operation should ensure that they will do well from BWI, probably with more of a leisure focus while FLL and HOU will be more ethnically focused.

"you didn't explain why WN's RASM growth is now in line with instead of far above the legacy carrier's like it has been."

Under promise and over deliver.

Back in October on the guidance call, they predicted a 2% PRASM and then revised it last week, so the stock is taking off.  The growth may now be in line with "legacy" carriers but can we wait until the quarter is finished and then revisit the topic?

it has nothing to do with promising relative to delivering....

and yet other legacy carriers are showing higher RASM growth.

ALL airline stocks have been doing well recently.

Off the top of my head it will be Houston, BWI, FLL and I believe they are considering LAX but do not know for fact.

Also, we will more than likely be starting some new flights from Denver to NY, as well as focus very hard on expanding DAL LF with even more flights.  4th flight to mexico will start soon.  Nothing but positive news for the next several years.  Growth, expansion domestically, growth internationally, and just plane smart expansions thru-out the system. Keep us growing SWA...

WN's capacity so far has been flat - no growth. they are just selling the seats they have better than they were in the past but there are fewer flights than there were a year ago.

at what point do you suppose WN will have a larger network than they had at the time of the merger?

I will no longer do the work, if you want to know for how long this has been happening you can look back thru the post above.

Not hearing of any being the 900 series.  Yes there are more 73's coming but it will be more of the 700's, 800's and the new MAX.  Also SWA is still out and hunting for any and ALL used 73's they can find as Boeing is not providing enough...

did they ever take any of the ones that one Canadian airliner had up or did I misread that somewhere?
