1st Q Numbers look great!

WN is capable of reaching the 20% goal of ROIC.

DL is also projecting the same level as well as 20% operating margins

good news for airlines like DL and WN that have profit sharing as a major component of their employee compensation.

Has anyone tallied the Q profits for 2014 yet?  The number might shock you.  Here they are;
Q1-----152 million
Q2-----465 million
Q3------382million
Grand total 999 million so far for 2014.  Just 1 million off from 1Billion in only 3 quarters.  Very good SWA, very good.  Look forward to many many more record Q's in the future and beyond...

Thx Robbed.  Never have we seen 1 billion in profits for a year.  I know this seems to be no big deal to anyone outside of SWA but, it is huge for us, a major milestone will be hit this year.  Hoping we top at least 1.2 or better for the year...

good luck bro  I hope you all see it too  just as I hope for any airline   its a hell of an achievement

A fantastic overview in these articles, hoping to get them all to post:

Southwest Airlines: Must-read third-quarter earnings overview

Here's part 2

Continue to Part 2

WT please refer to the para titled "Control of Dallas Love Field gates"
And pay attention to the last sentence, oh here, let me help you out so you can't twist it up to suit Delta;  "Delta will no longer have any gates at the airport."

I know these are some long reads, but, well worth the time.  Some of the record numbers and percentiles listed were not previously released.  New record highs with the stock as well. Keep the good news coming.  Mon we report better than anticipated Oct numbers, my guess somewhere between 3.25% and 4.5% increases...

except that DL is still at DAL. Now how can that be if they have no gates? Are they boarding thru a pad and bussing passengers? No, because that isn't permitted.

now, DL is using WN's gates, aren't they?

and DL is using those gates because WN knows there is no legal basis for saying that DL or any other carrier cannot serve DAL or that DAL is exempt from federal regulations regarding airport access.

you and your crack team of posters on here can pontificate all you want but WN's very sober legal team isn't the least bit interested in seeing DL take the case to court so they are accommodating DL and will continue to do so.

If DL takes it to court, the chances are real high that DL's "ask" for gate access will not only get bigger but that other carriers will join DL... and WN as the largest tenant at DAL would have the most to pay.

DL will be at DAL whether the Market Realist realizes it or not.

swamt  are there hard stands  similar to how SNA used to board/deplane pax during the 80s n 90s?  if so DL could use 1 or 2!   :)

Reread and comprehend what I said, get a clue, but by all means keep posting as you continue to look like a moron.

Really?  Is that what you think?  Know your information before posting.  I have seen and SWA has used them as well as other carriers and charters.  You really do not have a clue about LF.  Pls keep posting your ignorance...

BTW WT,  Hook line and sinker.  You just keep proving my point every time I post in this thread.  Just like clock work you continue to prove my point of how negative you are towards all the airlines other than Delta.  And this is the only reason I started this thread and you still follow thru.  Just gotta LUV this stuff man...

if you find telling you that your employer will do very well at DAL is negative, then you probably should be send to mental ward for confinement.

the problem you and others can't handle is that DL will be at DAL just like I said they would.

and DL 717s will be pulling up to WN gates.

at least you can hope that DL will do well enough that the route will grow to M80s.
