yep tulsa you were mislead by the twu AGAIN

Venting doesn't get the job done. Kind of like venting here on this site like we all do. It is a useless waste of time and causes hurt feelings between those of us stupid enough to come here and vent, but it is however a place to vent. We as members should never feel we have the inability to be heard. There are monthly membership meetings at all of our locals for that purpose. We as members create the inability to be heard by our own personal judgement by excusing ourselves from those meetings. But the TWU will always represent us, even with our absence.

you missd the point again, your really good at this
the question is why are we all venting?
because, clearly by majority, the members are fed up with the TWU ATD and their inability to represent and blame the members for everything that happens.

The TWU represents you say?
no one i know is proud to be a member of the TWU in the ATD. Don't believe me HSS go ask them. At least the company came around and took their licks. Where are my TWU ATD representatives coming to the line stations to explain their positions?
We are a union who pays dues but has a non-union contract and the TWU ATD are leaders in bringing the whole industry down again and again.

as you can see venting is in order and just so you understand, it is not just me but the masses that feel this way.

American cancels flights as labor talks drag on
by Nancy Trejos, USA TODAY

American Airlines, which is fighting with many of its workers as it tries to reduce costs under bankruptcy protection, is cutting flights this month and next.

The airline says it will reduce the rest of its September and October schedule by about 1% to 2% because of an increase in pilots calling in sick and in maintenance reports filed by flight crews.
"We are constantly evaluating our schedule based on operational and staffing resources, as well as seasonal demand, making adjustments when necessary," American spokeswoman Andrea Huguely said.
She says the schedule adjustments will minimize any effect on customers' travel plans.
American parent company AMR Corp., which declared bankruptcy in November, has been negotiating new agreements with its unions to cut labor costs by as much as $1 billion.
Last week, the carrier won bankruptcy court for new labor agreements with unions representing its flight attendants and mechanics.
But pilots rejected the company's latest contract offer. The union is conducting a strike-authorization vote even though federal officials are not yet allowing a strike.
Tom Hoban, spokesman for the pilots' union Allied Pilots Association, says the association has "neither condoned nor supported any kind of sickout."
He also says the association has not noticed any significant increase in the number of pilots calling out sick.
American in July canceled 1.2% of its flights, according to the latest Transportation Department figures.
According to FlightAware.com, which tracks flights, American and its regional arm American Eagle on Sunday canceled 92, or 2.7% of its flights. On Monday, there were 73 cancellations, or 2.1% of flights.
Other major carriers canceled 0.9% of flights on Sunday and 0.4% on Monday.

Then you should look in the mirror Chuck if you want to vent or better yet, look at Owens and Gukelberger. The Int'l informed you and your mighty President that BK was a real possibility. If we had voted for the May 2010 you and other "leaders" recommended a no vote on we would have been making more than all but one the airlines you whine make more than us. Now you blame the Int'l for your heroes missteps. Nice. Look in the mirror Chuck, you and your misguided rhetoric play a huge part of our current predicament.

Every "no" vote has not improved our position. In fact each one took us down a notch. BK took us down a huge notch but people like you stated the TWU Int'l was drinking the koolaid.

And Chuck, I am not "no one" and I am proud to be TWU.

A hiccup. Just like OT bans, the Company will learn to manage through it. All the other airlines who went through BK had the same periods of disruption.

you are wrong again.....

I told my members, if you are going to vote "no" then it will have to be "NO" all the way. I explained that the company will come back with less and the road will only get harder. If we could not get a contract that satisfied us then we will have to keep voting "no" and get it to the PEB as a our only chance, no promises. I told them, if your going to crumble in between the first "NO" vote and the PEB then vote "yes". That is why 96% voted "no" a third time. when the TWU ATD crumbles and uses scare tactics instead of "fighting like hell" then what is their to be proud of? Another industry leading concessionary contract? oh yeah, we are all real proud....

turn the mirror around and see what a clueless union person looks like

The FIGHT LIKE HELL went to HELL when the TWU International was to get $5 billion plus if this LBO passed. Talk about your flip flopper's. Again it is proven that it is all about money and nothing else but $$$$$$$$$. Even the TWU stooges are afraid of losing their cushy suck A$$ positions. They rant and rave about how it is the members fault, the companies fault, the AMFA's fault, the other airlines fault but never start at the source. Look in the mirror boys. I hope you can live with yourselves. Can not wait soon enough to rid you guys out of here for good. Your time is running short. Save your money because it will end soon. Bye, Bye.

"I am not "no one" and I am proud to be TWU."

Hey Dobby,

You are someone. You are a coward hiding behind an alias promoting an industrial, undemocratic, unaccountable catch all union that is out of touch with the membership. You're proud to be twu? Well at least you admit you have a problem. That's the first step in seeking help.

I am an AMT and proud to be an AMT and proud to fight for craft, democratic representation.

GO AMFA!

With your obvious undiscovered brilliance and AMFA training I can't believe guys like you and Owens aren't CEO's of some major airline. You two always have all the answers - you're always right, and everyone else is wrong. Absolutely amazing!

Weak comeback dude. Is that all you can come up with?

He has nothing left to shoot with. No more bullets. He just took the pistol and threw it at him like in the old superman episodes. How funny.

You mean that you don't believe Ken & Owens are brilliant, why that's sacrilegious.

You mean that you don't believe Ken & Owens are brilliant, why that's sacrilegious.

when ever you TWU ATD enthusiasts have no come back you throw the Owens, Schalk, JR, peterson and ken card out.
why don't you enthusiasts defend the concessionary history or better yet boast about the TWU ATD great accomplishments with their members.
how do you sell organizing the TWU when we have a non-union management contract at hand?
please sell us all on these instead of knocking everyone else.
stand up for this great union and speak of their greatness......... cricket.....cricket.....cricket...

Every "no" vote has not improved our position. In fact each one took us down a notch. BK took us down a huge notch but people like you stated the TWU Int'l was drinking the koolaid.

In other words you are saying that as long as the ATD has control over the process that if you dont accept the first deal that you can expect things to get worse?

In the 25 years I've been here the majority of the time the first deal passes, the members realize after the fact that it was too concessionary and regret it, then challenge the International and they step back and say "You guys accepted it". So which way is it? Turn down bad deals or dont complain, accept bad deals because it will only get worse and dont complain or just keep paying your dues to support our six figure salaries and dont expect even average pay for the industry and dont complain?

The fact is that most unions ask for and get released if the mebers vote down a TA-WE NEVER EVEN ASKED. I said all along that we wont get the best deal until the end of the cooling off period, we never even were allowed to get close.

Please give us the numbers to support your claim that we would all be making more than all but one other carrier had we accepted the 2010 TA, Keep in mind that I work day shift and Chuck works afternoons. Would we be making more than all but one carrier? Which carriers, the ones that the company campared us to in 2010 or 2012? How about the base guys, where would they be? Isnt it true that the company could simply alter start times, and still had 24 hour coverage, so nobody would have recieved the MRT which would have left all of us below everyone on either list except USAIR?

And yet you also have failed to achieve CEO status.
