when has the TWU ATD international ever told us to vote "NO" on any concessionary contract?

so if you want to talk about leading, The international blames everyone else for their failure to secure us a respectable contract to vote on. The company dictates the negotiations and the International just passes it on to the negotiating committee. If that is what they consider fighting like hell no wonder we are in bad shape! If you were listening duringthe so called negotiations, we were told over and over there was no negotiations and our leadership of the TWU sits on the sidelines and tells the negotiating committee "what ever you guys want to do". "you guys" like they are seperate from us. oh thats right they are, our concessions do not affect our international officers

I will riddle you something. I believe back in late December 2009 the company came to the negotiating committee with a contract extension offer that was rejected by the TWU committee because they said there was more on the table at the time. With the TWU committee's response to the company the request was made by the International to go to mediation. Though at the time I thought it was a mistake not allowing the membership to make that determination before hiring the mediator so he would have something from the membership to look at that said it wasn't enough. Instead. He was told by the committee it was not enough. So I would say YES, the NO position of the negotiating committee on that proposal was supported by the International...

The company never actually gave names but they were OK with Videtich , Gless et al staying in the courtroom while they discussed financial information they said they only shared with the "lead negotiators" (or something to that effect), they wanted me out, but in doing so they clearly pulled back the curtain as to what a farce the whole Negotiating committee structure is.

everything about the TWU structure is a farce. It's not a union.....it's "La Casa Nostra" mob like organization. They're based in New York, right? They're days are numbered!
Classic "la casa nostra" was Videtich following Redding around like a mob hitman back in 2003-4 when they came to ORD. Videtich was actually answering questions for Redding. Classic company suck ass!!!! Isn't that right Don V.......I mean Big Mac!

The actions of a few do not determin the action or direction of the union. Like you have said non professional organizer. The members of AA who are attempting to bring change in your mind act unproffessionally, but when a person has a goal he/she puts passion into what they believe. Having to fight the negative actions of AA, TWU and members of your own class and craft.

I still have not seen the decision from you wether you are a twu supporter, or IBT. The company has in the past placed memebers out of service just for wearing a T-shirt with AMFA on it. We have members of our own class craft writing letters to the Intl. and locals attempting to press charges against AMFA supporters. But these are the very same TWU memebers who push the IBT. These are former TWU local officers, and stewards. Your basing all your words on the actions of a few. It depends on the battle field what tactics need to be taken, don't you agree? It's been alot of yrs that the TWU and AA have been working together to reduce our overall wage earning potential. After working in this enviroment some may act in a way you don't agree with but the GOAL they have is for the betterment of our craft and in thier mind & actions. Having to explain over and over how/why what they are doing is better for all.

Most in our craft have gotten to the point they don't care they let someone else do all the work. Spend countless hrs of thier own time doing research and passing info to guys who blindly follow the TWU. Now we have the IBT in play as well.

At most stations union meetings are a joke no one attends. The reason why is I got better things to do that listen to the same old BS. So when the AMFA guys do research and post it it just gets torn down.
Its time for the AMT's of AA to decide how long your going to take the abuse of the TWU and AA. Say enough change the future for ourselves and those who follow.


Signing an AMFA card will give us all a vote. You can support what ever union you choose. But again why do you attempt to hinder the rest of us.

You ask who I support and I will answer as I have before on here. I support who we have representing us no matter who it is. In my Opinion the strong times of the Aviation Unions is sadly behind us I think unless there is a major change in culture. Trying to get a membership involved in something as effortless as Voting whether it be a contract or new leadership has been a lost cause for a long time. I grew up around Kansas City and would help my dad with his plumbing company that was non union and everytime we worked on a job where we were the only no union trade I got to see firsthand how strong Unions were that had Unity. It was rough I'm here to tell you, so I have seen what we need to have looks like.

I believe personally that Every Union has it's downfalls and quirks no matter how democratic or lack there of they may be. That is one of the main reasons I don't have a strong conviction of which one is the perfect one to represent us I leave that to the 50% +1. The thing that I have issue with is leaders or potential wanna be leaders acting and being everything that contradicts what the word stands for.

There is one person in particular on here that pushes AMFA that I won't name because it's not a jab that thinks evidently from a post I read about not putting up with the company running over our negotiating team that while in negotiations table pounding and ultimatums are the way to negotiate when things are not going our way. It is thought processes like that is what I believe would drive the final nail

There are a few AMFA supporters that I am very good friends with and we have agreed to disagree instead of what seems normal protocol of "if you do not totally agree with what they say then you are totally wrong", only less intelligence used with the choice of words. Granted it's not that way with every supporter of AMFA but at Tulsa base that is what you get with most of them and it seems to be the impression that most non supporters have that I know, some just don't care one way or the other. I really don't see that big of a difference between the IBT and TWU so I don't understand the change but I won't hold that against someone if they want a change not that it would matter if I did anyway.

I understand where you are coming from as I hope you do me and hope whatever the outcome is something that benefits you. You seem like a rarity in the people I have dealt with that are pushing AMFA.

Venting doesn't get the job done. Kind of like venting here on this site like we all do. It is a useless waste of time and causes hurt feelings between those of us stupid enough to come here and vent, but it is however a place to vent. We as members should never feel we have the inability to be heard. There are monthly membership meetings at all of our locals for that purpose. We as members create the inability to be heard by our own personal judgement by excusing ourselves from those meetings. But the TWU will always represent us, even with our absence.
