Now is not the time. Let the almighty TWU spend our money on lawyers to save what will be left of our contract. After the smoke clears I will support AMFA or AMP. Whichever the majority decide.

trust me I feel more sorry for you guys that stay I'm looking fwd to a new chapter in my life. I'm 42 so I have many years ahead of me

Good luck to you. I used the RIF in 2005 in an effort to leave AA in the rear view mirror and it was the best decision I have ever made. At this point, if I ever step foot in a hangar to work an airplane in my lifetime, it would be too soon.

dude read again, no where does it say 40% OSM there is no cap to the amount or where they can work that is whats going to kill us in tul they wont need to outsource but most on my dock that would he in the lay off to OSM on the dock are taking the layoff
Negotiations are still going on. No where does it say that Title II is going to be saved. If you save other Title jobs, you have to give something else. I have been here a number of years and understand how the TWU operates. The TWU will take the position of saving jobs, but the company will not give just give them what they want. The company is looking to pattern themselves after a MRO, to do that and keep some items from the Term Sheet, trades have to be made.

The TWU has to save face and their dues flow to the International, by saving Title II, the union is playing the numbers to keep someone like AMFA out.

I would be interested in some of the reasoning behind the "no" positions.

And does a no position mean to keep the TWU?

My NO position is for now until this mess gets cleared up. After things settle down and we know where we stand then let the fun begin getting rid of the TWU.

With all the layoffs and sure to be many retirements getting all cards signed from all these guys who will no longer be around will be next to impossible. But as hallways I will do my part to get rid of the cancerous twu whatever it takes! !!!!!

Bingo!

that's why AMFA or any other union will NEVER come onto this property. The TWU saves jobs not wages or the profession. And, when you look deep into the cause......WE, as a membership, ACCEPT jobs over preserving the profession, therefore, WE ARE THE PROBLEM! You may change the union title.....you are NOT changing the problem. There needs to be a culture change within the membership whereby the belief is to enhance the profession of the AMT, and to enhance the purchasing power by increasing wages and benefits, instead of diminishing the profession to OSM status and at the same time, lowering the our wages. And, since our membership believes it's more important to save jobs....this is what you get.

Remember, history has shown that jobs will always come back....your purchasing power will not!

AMFA's motto is to save the profession, not diminish it. I don't believe they would even want to represent a bunch of spineless baffoons!

my NO position is because I am wasting my time signing that card. As long as Tulsa has the majority, NO union will ever succeed in replacing the TWU. especially now that the TWU supposedly save thousands of jobs in tulsa. Good Job, Team TWU!!!

Do you think we should ALL take your position and not bother to try? It takes what about 90 seconds to sign a card.
I bet you waste more time than that sitting on the toilet.

If you want a Union where the majority does not rule, then go to China and work.

If not the majority rule, then what do you propose as an alternative?

Are you Kidding????

NOT kidding. NOBODY is worse for aircraft mechanics than the Company-Union TWU and their AFL-CIO mob cronies. You have FAILED and an AMFA card drive is going to happen.

Want to know who has the airline industry's TOP paying contracts?
SWA ~ AMFA
AS ~ AMFA

VISIT AMFANATL WEBSITE amfanatl.org

By the time AA has done their cutting, we will have the numbers to throw TWU out for good. Get active. The time to organize is now.

By the time 40% of the work force is moved to OSM what reason is there not to try another form of representation?

My gut and my heart tell me the time has come to attempt to reform the AMFA organizing committee in Tulsa and prepare for another card drive to gain a representational election at American Airlines for the Mechanic and Related workers.

Without funds to start and succeed, I will not waste my time and effort.

Would you be willing to donate 2% of your prefunding medical refund to an AMFA Organizing Effort in Tulsa Oklahoma?

If I decide to lead this effort I pledge much more than 2% of my refund to the effort. And I will pledge whatever time it takes to get the election and win.

You can post here your thoughts.
Private Message me your thoughts.
Or call me on my cell phone to discuss.

I will make my final decision within the next three weeks regarding my involvement.

You can be assured that I will not begin unless I intend to give 100% and this time succeed!

You want a new Union?
You want to better your representation?
You are tired of the decimation of your job and profession?

You have to take a stand.
You have to be involved.
You have to assist financially.

All of us together reduces the burden an effort such as this can place on a few.
This task requires skill, commitment, and unrelenting desire for change.

Make your commitment now or stop your complaining about what is happening!
I want to hear from each of you!

Where can an outsider of your airline, send a donation to your AMFA card drive cause for the AA mechanics. We would love to bring the AA'ers into AMFA. I will say one thing though, do not let AMFA National combine our locals with your locals, I think we need to keep them seperate for airline specific related voting issues. What is the 2% of Med you are asking for? Trans that to dollars for me, and I will donate that amount when you get up and running. There may not be many out there that will do this but it wouldn't hurt to send some E-mailers and flyers out to SWA and AS to see if anyone would help out. Trust me I do know it gets expensive.. Let me know when and where brother!
