Why Tim Nelson is Dangerous to IAM-represented employees at United Airlines

I don't sense that one bit. It seems in certain circles within the IAM Tim is disliked because he holds the leadership accountable and educates the membership. Yourself and others in this thread have made serious charges against Tim and when asked questions or shown facts you completely ignore and avoid what is being asked of you. Is this what the labor movement has come to? As pathetic as it was for 141 to agree to this nonsense, now you are advocating people just shut up and blindly support this nonsense? Again, if Tim is this radical anti labor figure you and others have claimed, why are you going to such lengths to attack him in this thread? Why are there thousands of employees actively participating on Facebook? Sorry but that just doesn't add up.

Josh

Because I know him as a double dipper that only serves himself it is only a matter of reading his other posts on different threads.

If I google anything it will be the TA. I'm really not into personal bashing of this kind. My concern is TA language
That the point exactly nelson bashes people on facebook , hasn't read TA 2 because its being proofread. He's okay doing that but then he cries foul along with his cheerleaders. Too bad I'm not gonna let him get away with that anymore. If Nelson wants to have a intelligent debate and quit circumnavigating the issues I'm ok with that. But for him to make up facts and lies about the new TA is unacceptable.

so if it's being proofread how is it you know exactly what is written in it?

UA agents will make $24 per hour base. Plus up to $.75 longevity, shift pay, $1.75 lead premium and $1.00 per hour for other premiums areas.

I am sure your $24.00 as well as your express work will be on the CWA/US negotiating table and thank you for that but your scope on allowing your mainline flights to be work by a vendor is BAD…

Kev what do you think of the districts actions to only allow one day for voting? Seems they are looking to capitalize on apathy and voter suppression to get this POS ratified. To me that's inexcusable. Both businesses-the IAM and UAL have a mutual interest in seeing this thing ratified ASAP.

Josh

Right?

I certainly hope Tim is wrong about these guys being part of 141's leadership. If they are, the members at UA are in more trouble than I thought.

Do u have a copy of the grandfather clause (i think it was that rj8 language ) nwa had in the contract prior to bankruptcy that gave all of the outstations permanent grandfather rights to stay in their station, even as vendors worked as part of their team on each flight?
I remember the proyections protecting the iam143 members shifts and start yimes againsy the encroaching vendors. If you have that old contracy, can u copy and paste yhat clause? I have it but its up in the attic and the ole knees arent too fond of climbing up there and searching for it if i dont have to.

Per the IAM? Pretty sure the pilots and F/As are given several days or weeks.

Josh
This isnt pilots and flight attendants, the IAM has numerous locations for voting, and one reason why its done this way is the security of the ballots.

Its been done this way for over 20 years that I have voted on CBAs.

Seems the membership doesnt mind as no bylaw change was done to change the voting.

And even regular political elections have an election day, not election days, except for early voting.

Just doesn't seem very employee friendly, especially with all the parking discussion a few weeks back about how airline employees work varied shifts at irregular hours. One would think the union would be responsive to this but apparently not.

I don't like it, but AFAIK, 700's right, and it's always been a 1 day deal. If nothing else, I would like to at least see online or phone options added to the mix. Absentee ballots are okay, but not enough, IMO.

I'm pretty sure I still have a copy. I'll take a look for it later today.
