let's just stick to the facts, ok?

AA 777-300ER

Pitch Width Seating details

Main Cabin Extra
36 18
30 standard seats

Economy 31 17
220 standard seats

DL 767-300ER

Economy 31-32 17.9
171 standard seats

Delta Airbus 330-200

Economy 31-32 18

now tell me again which seat the vast majority of passengers would like to sit in while crossing the Pacific, Atlantic, or to Latin America?

Errr. Maybe because the 777-300 is larger than the A330....

I've flown in 17 and 18 inch wide seats, and never really noticed the difference. I do notice crappy legroom, though. That's where MCE and Y+ won my business.

Then again, if you have a big ass, I guess you'd worry about the width more than other people would.

But what to do about WT's big head?

how about you help him out.

The ATI covers Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Viet Nam, Indonesia, Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Agreed - at this point I'm more concerned about getting kneecapped by the guy in front of me.

Just an FYI - UAL is making plans to modify some sUAL 772s to the 10 abreast configuration, and over 60% of 777s are being shipped from Boeing in the 10 abreast configuration.

Doesn't seem to be as big a deal as some would try and make it out to be.

Considering the male average shoulder width is 18-1/4 inches doesn't matter for the seat width.
Flew to Hawaii next to a buffed out dude that probably had a 22 inch shoulder width sitting in a 17 inch seat.
People are not a pill and ass width has little to do with it.
:p

so, it's ok to sell 17 inch seats that will be the worst possible option?

there are indeed females and children who aren't that wide.

yeah, I've been in rows with 3 adult men and it is no fun on any aircraft in coach.

but I also know that there is a difference between 17 and 18 inch wide seats and I am pretty close to average build for an American.

Errr. Maybe because the 777-300 is larger than the A330....
so since the 773 is a bigger aircraft, each passenger should get less of it?

and the irony of your statement is that DL's 333s only hold 17 less seats than AA's 773ERs and yet passengers on DL's 333s get more space.

apparently DL decided using space for individual passengers instead of a walkup bar would benefit more passengers and help the bottom line better

First you need to compare 767 to 767, 330 to 330 and 777 to 777

It's neat how you compare apples to oranges

Can you illustrate MCE and Y+ on the 767 which one has better pitch - which one has better width

Once again they both have different advantages so once again let's not let the facts get in the way of a good storyline

the seat width on an airplane is what it is whether it is on a 744 or a CRJ.

people don't accept a tighter seat just because it is on a bigger plane.

if there was interest in measuring ceiling height and the size of the doors, it would be included.

people care about their OWN space.

AA's 773 and reconfig 772s are lacking compared to the competition, including DL's 767s.

no, the seat pitch in the standard economy section of AA's 773 and DL's 767s is the same.

the poster than made the comment might prefer to lick a toilet tablet over flying on a DL 767 but the vast majority of passengers just want more space.

and the best part is they get more service on DL in addition to more space.

Well while the passengers on Delta may indeed enjoy the extra space, the vast majority of passengers elsewhere in the industry must not be too vocal, or the operators not too concerned as Boeing is delivering well over half their  777s in the 10 abreast configuration.
