Yep, going through BK and getting raped by corporate MeriKa is traumatic.
When 'they' cut pay, benefits, pension and increase health care pretty much in one fell swoop, it definitely sucks... been there, done that, no T-shirt.... :p

Gent's stop betting each other up.  Look below to see what the FLASH Boys received in Plunder and pillage;

In the disclosure of executive compensation, Horton leads the list, with $19.3 million in total compensation. Parker, US Airways chairman and CEO who took over as AAG CEO on Dec. 9, had a 2013 package of money, stock and other compensation valued at $17.7 million.

EXECUTIVE SALARY TOTAL COMPENSATION POSITION

                                 Salary          Bonus

Thomas W. Horton    $591,911   $19,343,121 Chairman

W. Douglas Parker    $42,308     $17,661,130 CEO

J. Scott Kirby            $42,868     $13,283,563 President

James B. Ream         $581,196  $10,099,368 Ex-AA SVP maintenance

Daniel P. Garton         $541,087  $10,062,287 Ex-AA EVP, head of American Eagle

Robert D. Isom Jr.      $37,826    $9,590,929 EVP-operations

Isabella D. Goren        $551,193 $9,493,372 Ex-CFO

The TWU has screwed us enough. How bad could things had been?

Just goes to show how pathetic our government is. They pass a law that says that you cant get a windfall if you take your company into C-11, and the execs turn around and ***** slap them and  "Try and stop us, we own you".

boys and girls that is just plain nauseating.

Not just one exec with compensation above $10M but five and two more just outside the door.

The love parting gifts from game shows take on a whole new meaning.

I don't think any other airline has ever paid that much to executives, solvent or not.

I remember once getting on a 727 that was fresh out of TUL and it looked brand new. In fact the dock was so proud of their work they painted the dock number in back by the air stairs. Their work was impressive.

Those days are gone. Now you will probably find a roll of toilet paper laying back there instead of the dock number.

For what it's worth, (and for better or for worse) the new hires haven't been around to experience 9/11, concessions, base closures, red ink, and finally bankruptcy… Personally, I feel it is a good thing to have a little less cynicism on the airplane lately. With fresh faces come fresh attitudes… at least for a current while. :)

Then tell them to stay away from these boards!!

I wouldn't worry about that, although I never worked at AA, my 38 years in the industry I haven't seen one let something slide.
Mechanics are a tough bread and have more personal integrity than most fields.
They will perform until the day they leave.

No worries, even the most jaded A&P's I work with never let their
dissatisfaction with the TWU or AA affect their professionalism on
the job. The AMFA drives continue at American because the A&P's
care about their profession more then their hatred for the TWU
international or their mistrust of AA management.

Unions ensured that once you got a job, you kept it. Pay for performance went out the window. Employees did not have to prove themselves anymore. If you showed up for work, almost regardless of skill, you were guaranteed a lifetime of work, a middle class lifestyle, and a relaxing retirement. The union, not the worker, negotiated wages and guarantees jobs.

Over the last few decades, we have stopped treating our workers as adults so they became ageless children. The worker became a permanent child with the union acting as a lifelong parent. The problem our society faces today is that we stopped teaching people how to create their own success and to nurture and maintain the careers they have. It's not a lack of job skills that is hurting our country, our society, and our citizens. It's the lack of motivational skills.
