What do the flight attendants want/need onboard

An express beverage with a cart works great. The blanket of the cart on a 737 is an absolutel NO. I dont' replace the front cans either. Just take out the empty meal cart on the 737 under the coffee makers and use the white buckets from the bev cart. grab the sleaves of soda from where they are kept. It's super simple. Hang your bag off the lock hook on each end of the cart. As for the water being expensive, most give out the bottle on longer flights to our f/c passengers who request it. It will never change. It's not being lazy, it's giving the working business passenger the ability to pour their own water rather than sit there by their chair and keep pouring. Just because other carriers do something doesn't mean we have to always be a follower. I'm sorry but going to one type of water bottle though probably a savings can't be that much. They need to take the sign down touting that we are the "Worlds Largest Low-fare Carrier".. We MOST CERTAINLY ARE NOT. We are the "Worlds Largest LOW WAGE Carrier". Thats more accurate.

Ok everyone is talking about what they want. Well how about coworkers that are not PIGS. WHY oh why is it necessary to open the cups compartment and find EVERY pack of cups open. Why is it hard to find the bag of snacks/pretzels that ARE open rather than have half of the stock open. The airbus cart BS that the company did is bad enough but we have f/a's that make it worse by throwing EVERYTHING anywhere. MANY and I do mean MANY f/a's just don't care. It only makes the next coworkers job that much harder. It is so nice to change planes and walk into an organized galley. I'm not saying you have to have it "rainman" clean with organized sugar and fruit stabbed but c'mon. The very same f/a's will complain about everything under the sun. I was ready to chase the #$%$# down that was in back. I had just about had it. Anyway. I hear we are getting the west cups come November. Can we at least have our name put on them? They just look like a stack of cups bought at the Dollar Store for a cheap picnic.
Trav,

I think it's a conspiracy. I think that FA's are opening each pretzel bag and cup sleeve to secretly drive you nuts.

Be glad that open cups/pretzels are the largest thing in life you have to worry about. At least you have your health! ;)

Because they probably are.

I would just like to find a f/c basket ready to serve.

BTW, would you pilots, cleaners, and everyone else keep your dirty hands out of that basket. The snacks are somewhere in the galley. Just ask. ;)

   Oh, thanks for the laugh, LCC!

Is this reeeeeeeally a big deal? It takes 15 seconds to fix the snack basket.

Pilots, cleaners, and everyone else, HELP YOURSELF to the snack basket. It's yours as much as it is mine. B)

Tryin' to cut the drama......

sky high states: US Airways Fleet
US Airways fleet boasts almost 4,000 daily departures.
Sureeeeeeeee, give out TEN bottles of water in coach, daily. Do the math! This airline is a LOW COST airline and its employees gave BILLIONS to be one. A coach passenger wants a bottle of water? There's plenty of stores in the terminal. Or one can get a "glass of water" onboard.
only stating opinions.
Let's put things in perspective... it is a BOTTLE OF WATER, not a bar of solid gold. I see FA's argue, whine, moan with pax and each other every day over this issue. Channel your energy somewhere else; we have TONS of water on that plane. In the grand scheme of things, its not that big of a deal.

Do I agree pax should bring their own? Yes. Sometimes, however, connecting times, etc, do not allow for that. It's a bottle of water. Just breathe..........

I take it you are one of "those" flight attendants that open all the packages of items on the plane rather than take a second to look. When you go to grab a stack of cups and they were opened from the other end it kind of makes a mess when the whole stack falls all over the place. YES I am quite aware that there are bigger things in life to worry about. I don't let my disgust for PIG flight attendants rule my day. When you are on the plane and can't take a SECOND to leave the galley clean and clean up YOUR mess you should be ashamed though I'm sure your not. To busy to do the RIGHT thing. Lets do CashCow. Again I don't worry about such trivial things though it DOES make your job a pain in the A$$... Oh if OOOOOOOOONLY I could find "my center" like you. hummmmmmmmm "I can handle all these open bags"....hummmmmmmmmm.

I'll post your quote again..... This rage is about plastic cups, am I correct? And "PIG" flight attendants? The rest of the ramble I can't understand. Yah, I would look into some meds. Or maybe some fresh air.

If you can't understand what I wrote it's on you. As for PIG flight attendants, yeah they are out there. Is it the end of the world and do I let it consume me? NO! Just made a statement which you seem to have some smartA$$ remark in return to just about EVERY post I put on here. Would LOOOOOOVE to work with ya? Let me know what trip I can pick up with you. CashCow anyone...MOOOOOOOOOOOO.. Again

No, you're right, you don't let unwrapped plastic glasses consume you.

Yawn. Next topic.

sky high states: You obviously didnt do the math. This airline has over 50 MILLION passengers per year. How many BOTTLES OF WATER do you want to put into perspective????
Do you know that by switching in the mid 1990's from the Can of soda, to a glass, THAT SAVED THE COMPANY OVER 9 MILLION DOLLARS?

Or by asking the passenger how they take their coffee, (if black coffee) and NOT giving them a stir-stick, that saves the company several thousands of dollars per year????
.....by taxi-ing on one engine to the gate....
etc...etc...etc..........PUTTING COST into perspective is the BIG DEAL, RDU22.

Oh I agree with you 100%. Just think that one needs to strike a balance. Taking bottles of water from FC is too much.

I will never look at a stir stick the same way again. In fact, when I drop them and 5000 fly all over the galley, I may just pick them up and use them again.

I was told that when I was hired as a stewardess, I would not have to "do the math.." ;)

sky high states: YOU were hired in the last 10 years. I know. Your attitude shows it. Your immaturity shows it. Actually, I misquoted the amount saved by NOT using a stir-stick..it's more like several HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS.
To this day, I still remember walking the halls of the training center in PIT. (over 20 years ago) On the walls it showed the EXPENSE this company pays for each item inflight. Garbage bags. coffee. stir-sticks, sugar.
Again, this airline has over 4000 FLIGHTS PER DAY!!!! Do you throw out a HALF EMPTY garbage bag? Brew 4 POTS of coffee on a late night flight? Give out sugar when NO ONE asks for it? IF SO, then YOU are contributing to LOSSES this company endures as it tries to compete in this industry!!!!

Yup, was hired in the last 10 years.

Attitude? What? Relax and take a joke..

I guess you are right. I need to stop going through the cabin with my "random sugar service..." never realized how much it cost USAir, but the passengers seem to love it.

Sorry for the excessive losses, I will try to do better, and encourage my colleagues to do so as well. Sometimes, you just need a slap in the face to see things from a different perspective...

sky high states: Why thankyouverymuch for the positive attitude/response. Today's Quarter results show why everyone needs to do their part during good times and bad.
