How about an early out package that absolutely screws the pants off the ones left behind? It's happened time and again why not one more time for old times?
An early out package that's attached and has any costs coming from the membership that remain is NOT something I would support. The Company has more than enough wealth now to bear those costs themselves. With the amount of people they've been hiring all over the system at least in Fleet it's my "guess" (Opinion) that they will offer up a package some time next year once everyone is fully online and trained?

Has any buyout package that you know of in your career actually come out of the cost of a CBA that you're aware of?

Have you been under a rock all these years? Thats one of the tricks used by the twu to get T/A's passed. It started in 1983. All early outs have a cost to the CBA. That's why they are offered during negotiations and not after. I never supported that type of negotiation tactic either but I have been left with the aftermath twice. So lets do it one more time for old times!!

I hired on in 95. I believe there was a package attached to that one since all the old farts were trying to get me to vote yes? Didn't understand any of that stuff as a new hire so I didn't vote on it. I was hired on in May and the contract was voted on and went into effect in Oct.

I don't remember any other contract where a buyout offer was attached to the CBA since?

That early out in 95 was paid for by the SRP classification and industry low 1.5% pay raises. The 514 local president Finley was a designer of the SRP class and also took the 5 and 5 early out and jumped ship after the contract passed. 2001 or 2003 had a 3 and 3 or 5 and something dont remember now since I was too young to take it. They all are part of the T/A though and do get contracts passed. So if the boat docks at the right early out island I'm getting off even if it costs you your Delta + 7 a week vacation and all your sick time!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know about Maintenance but I do know that almost all of the guys negotiating for fleet on both the IAM and TWU side are in their late 40's to early 50's. So I don't think that one will be coming home to roost if it takes any value out of the CBA.

Sorry brother but the company or you can fund your own retirement.

As far as I understand that cost did not come out of our 17% reduction? That's the argument made by the EBO people when they lost their suit against the union.

On side note. That appeal is still scheduled to be heard at the end of June.

I'd probably be a little more worried about my own representation or the pace of negotiations at my own carrier if I was you? I think the fervor you showed for trying to get these guys into your group is only to hide maybe a fear that you may need there help in the future? At least that's my opinion?
Then why are you in this discussion concerning the mechanics?

Because you guys don't own the board but you're all over it like a bunch of roaches.

To be honest.

I never said I owned this board or ask you to leave.

I do not participate in Fleet Service affairs, while it seems your purpose here is to disrupt or try promote non-craft unionism.

What are we asking for is the topic. Is the WE mean you? Try starting more threads specific to your group rather than thinking everything revolves around your personal little world.

And what the F did I say or care about your craft beer? I've never given one iota of a damn about it. Not in the slightest.
