what are we asking for?

WOW!!!  Just reading this thread is an exact example of what you guys will get with this association.  2 sides that cannot agree on anything.  Good luck to you all, but you guys could of had a vote. Now you do not get a vote.  I blame the membership as a whole, as they new what was at hand, to get a vote the membership had to bring in enough cards from the AMFA drive to trigger a vote, and the membership did not do that.  You now get to be represented by the 2 worst unions in the industry that cannot agree on anything...
With all due respect sir, AMFA National did not step up to the plate at a critical time. I understand that 30 days is a short time but a letter from AMFA with a name attached to it would have helped the grass roots effort even before the 30 period and the time between the nmb filing. Remember we have somewhere around 14,000 eligible members spread out across the country covering six overhaul bases. Not exactly a walk in the park. The organizers are doing a great job taking these factors into consideration.

I'd probably be a little more worried about my own representation or the pace of negotiations at my own carrier if I was you? I think the fervor you showed for trying to get these guys into your group is only to hide maybe a fear that you may need there help in the future? At least that's my opinion?
Not worried.  Fully understand the pace of nego's.  No fear or need their help.  Our union gives us full updates and does not make deals with the company behind close doors like your union is still doing.

I agree with you about National not stepping in to help with the drive. I actually think the organizers did a great lob.  Keep all the cards current as you go. This association will screw up badly as we go forward and the membership will get sick and tired soon enough to pull the trigger later.  I know what I said was a little harsh and I meant no disrespect towards anyone and especially nothing towards the organizers.  I really thought this time was it for AMFA to at least get put on a ballot.  Still hoping you guys come thru some time this year...

How about an early out package that absolutely screws the pants off the ones left behind? It's happened time and again why not one more time for old times?

there in lies the problem we will NEVER be told what we are asking for. we will probably get a slide show told negotiations are  super top secret then every six months or so we get an update.....
