US Airways raises $189 mln, warns of costs

Dell Dude,

From what I gather from reading your hundreds of posts...there has never been any good "state of affairs" no matter where you are. I have yet to read a forward looking, positive statement about this company from your posts.
UWCactus
While the original USAirways burned lots of employees elected to be disengaged and simply went with whatever management spewed. While spewing management treated us like ####. It's kind of like a dog that has been beaten and abused. Really! It takes a long time to get the trust back. Doug and the gang will make mistakes, but should be given the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully this IS the New Kickass USAirways! But please, be very analytical of all info from the top.

Delldude is EXACTLY correct when he says this is how it starts (concessions). I do not advocate going out and rioting, but, you should be paying very close attention to the information that is being distributed by The Adobe Palace.

You're crazy...America West employees have never been asked for concessions by Parker and his team, even when the money got extremely tight in 2001 and bankruptcy was around the corner. The employees are the last place Parker intends to turn unless the situation is dire need of financial help, much like the old US Airways was. Times are different in this business.

It is a new world. Airline employees have proven that they WILL work for 1/2 wages ... and be happy they still have a job. Why not try for 1/4 pre-911 wages? If I were running this airline, I would try to cut wages again, the employee groups are ripe. The U-Easters are the most afraid, lack of self-esteem, self-worth group of people I have ever been associated with. The excuse might be LCC needs more relief to get through the integration. It is sad. The attempt is comming. Johnny O says he has a stack of pilot applications a mile high, willing to fly jets for less than a Burger King assistant manager makes.

Wake up! If you are in you mid 50s, you are going to have to work after "retirement" anyhow. This place is JUST a paycheck! STOP being scared. You are going to have to start a 2nd career, so just look at it as if you are going to do it now rather than later. But you won't. You will give management more. That is why I would take more if I were running this show.

He never asked because you were one of the lowest paid in the industry and the ATSB even made that comment as they did not ask for employee concessions as part of HP's loan unlike US' loan.

Aviation Daily had a quick short, confusing retraction about their coverage of LCC's warning of downside risk. It said something along the lines of LCC still expects some kind of profit in 06. Interestingly, they called it "America West"

First..I can disagree with you without calling you names.

Second..After being a part of TWO chapter 11's I have way more knowledge and experience than I ever wished for. I will reiterate..I tend to trust Doug and hope he is given a real chance to work his magic. I also understand that if things go sour that the folks holding the purse strings will also be pulling Doug's. Continue to hope for the absolute best. I do also. Continue to keep your head in the sand. I don't.

True...........we were one of the lowest paid in the industry and there were labor cost restrictions placed upon us as a condition of the loan. But now, the old US Airways has joined the old America West and we are one.....and no doubt, still some of the lowest paid in the industry. Time to come together and make things better.....all the way around.
