Update On A/c 700

Would like to get any new info or updates on our wounded bird from Alabama. Aog or any mechanic from CLT who has any info on the current status or problems found would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Will management heed or continue to bleed ????

I spotted the infamous N700UW in PHL today getting ready to go to BOS. It was in A-West, I think gate A18. I almost didn't believe my eyes when I first saw it. If I had a camera, I would've taken a picture for posterity. So I guess that means it's back in service.

I'm just glad I was going to PIT and not BOS. :p

Acft 700 is indeed back in revenued service...and has been for a number of days , thanks in no small part to the folks in CLT Line Maintenance.

My understanding is that a couple of flap actuators and a few select position sensors had to be replaced...along with some tweaking to the rigging of the flaps.

So far the Acft is doing real well...and we can only hope it will continue to do so !! This Acft is going to have to do some flawless performing for a long long time in hopes of off-setting the nightmare and expenses this self-created situation has inflicted upon us.

The Acft is spending the night in DCA as of this response.

The current fly in the ointment is Acft 706. 706 was as many know . one of the three Acft that were parked over leasing issues some months back. 706 is currently sittiing in PIT Hangar 1 under-going a C-Check.

Having worked with the crew in PIT Hangar 1 ...I know this will be a fine Acft coming out the door....but in light of it having sat in GYR for months...it is , as I have said before less than perfect going in the door. 706 has created a constant flow of needs..and not cheap ones , as opposed to what we would encounter on a C-Check on an Acft in daily fleet use.

706 is slated to rejoin the fleet on December 2....we should hopefully be seeing 707 and 101 in the near future. They are still in GYR at this time....also in need of C-Checks...with S-Checks looming on the near horizon. Stay Tuned.
