Uneaten food in DFW

Really? By listening to some of  the posts here, it seems an industry leading contract +4% is imminent!
its not? i just checked my rate of pay on jetnet and well its not changed.....
maybe next week?

Why are  ya'll complaining, we are in a union that voted this contract in, we are stuck with this contract until 2018!!!!!!

When you voted it in the terms were right there for you "yes" voters to see. This pay rate until 2018.

If we were non-union we wouldn't have this problem, we would have been given the raise already. GO UNION, it's really working out for the ramp, highest FSC's lowest paid mechs.

I told my Grandpa a IBT retiree from the docks, that we get 5 sick days, etc, etc, He said quite bullsh@@@@@@ an old man.

I told my Aunt who works in a bank that it takes me 25 years to get 5 weeks VC, she said she got that after 15 yrs.

Union Pride. A FA said to me "you should have mechanics only negotiate your contract" I said that would be a great idea.

You do realize that the base being closed means w/o pay...

TUL can work if you sign up?
TUL can take that week as a week of vacation?
Isn't TUL showing that it's not critical to the operation if it can be closed for a week?
Why would TUL be closed anyway?
What is EVERYBODY giving up so TUL doesn't have to work over holiday week?
If we give up nothing, good for them, enjoy time off, but don't complain about it.

In TUL you don't get to work just by signing up.  Many are forced to take the week off without pay.  Many save a week of vacation for the shutdown.  Others used Flex vacation for it.  Either way the TWU is allowing the company to dictate when we are to use one week of vacation or take it without pay.  I have always believed that it should be a total shutdown and nobody should work it.  But there are always enough volunteers to keep things going.  The base shutdown was the brain child of Gail Ferguson who used to be in charge of base maint.  Ed Wilson agreed to it and signed a letter of agreement and then didn't tell anyone about it until the company posted the letter.  We never got to vote on it.  I can also tell you that you as a line guy have lost absolutely nothing because of the shutdown.  I do take the week off and enjoy the time with my family but I still feel it is not in our best interest to allow AA to dictate when we must use a week of our vacation.  Most in Tulsa disagree with me though and like it though.  I also never agreed with Flex vacation and honestly feel this was instrumental in the TWU giving our vacation away.  Too many were willing to buy their own vacation.  Now we don't have that either.

Oh, don't worry OldGuy, the TWU/IAM alliance is going to make it alllllll better...you know, straight in numbers.

I am terrified at what the alliance is going to do.

You forgot about the Paid Holidays she probably gets as well, so she really gets seven weeks of Paid Time off after 15 vs your five after 25.

Most career people start off with two weeks VC and 10 Holidays, for a Total of 4 weeks, at AA we start off with just one (for the first five years). I don't know of anyone who gets less than we do.

Hey look at the bright side Oldguy, there isn't a whole lot left for the company to take.
