Window or aisle?

This was great!

Thanks for the laugh Leperchanun. However, this might improve our image and customer service problem.

The thread title should be,

"US Airways cranks up the Smoke and Mirrors just in time for the Holiday Travel Season"

What are they gonna use for extra staff?? Blow up dolls from the local porn shops? Or better still, mandatory everyone and annoy the entire workforce so enough call in sick over Christmas to create the possibility of a Christmas meltdown.

Bob:
The whole thing is dependent on overtime & people working it IF that really is the plan. IMO like I said earlier people have already worked overtime & will now refuse it. We were working short AGAIN today.

We are sooo overstaffed in PHX, they will probably offer auto outs during all of December. The bid looked promising with a lot of lines with x-mas off. At least 4 lines with 20 positions on rsv with x-mas off. Usually 10 year + fa's can hold the holiday off. We will see this year!!

from an article in the PHL Inquirer.........
US Airways preps for trouble
After storms and delays last year, carrier readies backup plans
TOM BELDEN
Philadelphia Inquirer
US Airways on Thursday outlined a dozen steps it says it has taken, including adding employees at ticket counters, baggage carousels and reservation centers, to cope with holiday travel crowds and any weather-related delays this winter.

Going beyond the usual travel advice airlines offer just before the Thanksgiving holiday, US Airways said it would have spare airplanes and flight crews standing by in case winter storms forced cancellations.

..............
The holiday and winter season is now upon us. Anyone know where the spare crews and airplanes are?

What's really funny is that they are asking for volunteers to work in Philly through to the New Year. Manager said over her dead body. 18% cut in staff from summer to fall. Yea, we staffing up. What total garbage. Tempe makes an announcement like this and when the operation turns bad.....more B.S.

I was curious how we did today. Dont know how the rest of the system did, but we didnt earn the money today. Out of 22 flights had 0 (Yes a big fat 0) depart S:0. Although, on the good side, only 3 of the 22 ended up being more than 14 minutes late so we ended up being good on the A:14 schedule. This week should be interesting to say the least.
