Can I play?
DL will be out of DAL as soon as they don't have a gate sub-lease/lease.

That's what people have been telling you for quite some time, don't know why you can't grasp that!

Actually, I think you can and do grasp it, but you enjoy being an on-line pr!ck so you continue posting, repeating ad naseum  the same (often incorrect) thing over and over and over and over and over and over ..........

sure you can play.

did it occur to you that WN gained 2 gates but it appears they are adding less than 20 flights?

of course not... but if they were really so short, then it would certainly seem they would use the gates to the max by the peak summer season.

Maybe they're waiting for the summer to add service to DTW and MSP, nobody wants to go there in the winter ..........

Did anyone realize that WN might have added additional flights to other cities instead of just adding new flights?

the airports there do operate year round.... if they were only interested in seasonal service, then they should have announced it by now.

psst... I'll throw you some meat ON THE BONE. WN isn't going to fly DAL to DTW, MSP, and SLC.

and yes they added new cities and additional flights to existing cities. They also are reducing a LGA and DCA frequency.

Before this announcement, WN had 153 daily departures from its 16 gates in its June schedule, according to its Fact Sheet:

http://www.swamedia.com/channels/Corporate-Fact-Sheet/pages/corporate-fact-sheet

http://www.swamedia.com/documents/a9068077-44b9-4736-99c0-3650043c87df

Now, WN is planning on 166 daily departures from 18 gates, which is more than 9 per gate, a higher gate utilization rate than any of its top 10 airports except for LAX, where WN runs 11.3 daily departures on average from each of its 10 gates.

For all we know, the 153 flights from 16 gates was optimistic/aggressive and the 166 from 18 gates will result in smoother operations. On the other hand, maybe WN is "wasting" some gate capacity and maybe WN will announce a few more flights.

Looks to me like the two VX gates could easily handle more than 13 daily departures, and unless VX ramps up its schedule from DAL, the scarce resource provisions of the DAL leases will likely mean that DL can share the VX gates.

nope, it just means that doesn't need to offer nearly 800 seats/day to get its share of the N. Texas to LGA market.

wanna know how many passengers AA carried in the LOCAL DFW-LGA market in the summer of last year? less seats than what WN is offering from DAL to LGA.

IOW, WN has more than enough seats to take more than half of the seats in the local market which is what I said all along.

oh, and FWAAA, no other airport you looked at is dominated 95% by a single carrier and there is no room for other carriers.

WN should be scheduling so that the first flight is on the runway the minute the first flight can depart and the last flight touches down 59 seconds before the end of the day

Frugal, the definition of insanity is doing the the same thing over and over again and getting the same results.

Is it gospel that once WN acquired 2 gates WN must add 20 flights?
No it's not, correct.  Pretty sure SWA will be announcing more flights out of those gates by summer...

Added 9 new cities from DAL.  And added more flights to existing destinations...
