This isn't about the Wright Amendment or even the Five Party Agreement.

It's whether or not a political appointee at the DOT has the right to dictate how and when an airline leasing property is entitled to use it.

Since this lawsuit was filed by WN, why are we discussing it in the DL forum?...
Both statements above are correct.  This does concern both airlines, and some people may not go to both threads so I put the articles in both.

Delta might very well have to leave DAL Love Field;

Southwest Airlines goes to federal court to keep from having to share Love Field gates with Delta

Guess SWA beat Delta to the punch, huh???
And there is more. Virgin just announced going to 19 flights out of DAL. Making it even harder yet for any airline to "share" a gate with Delta after July 6th.  This will possibly be the final straw for Delta at DAL, it's all in the courts hands at this point...

Virgin America to launch Dallas-Austin flights in April

DL is just letting the feds fight with DAL and WN.

this case will take 10 seconds for a federal judge to decide.

WN has no chance of defending control of 90% of the gates at DAL and 95% of the seats while competing only against one very weak LCC in comparison.

Yes, let it go to court... let a judge rip up DAL's leases and start over with accommodating every else first and then WN can get what is left.
If you really think that Delta is just "letting" the feds fight with DAL and SWA, you really are an idiot.  Delta tried this before over the DAL issue before and where did that get them?  I can assure you Delta is 100% involved and will file any paperwork with the courts in order be a part of and to give input about this issue.  Delta execs, attorneys and all kinds of other Delta suits will be in that court room and they better be participating.  This phrase alone by you just confirms you know nothing about the issue at hand.  And let's not forget the next statement to go with it.  10 secs for a judge to come to a decision.  This will take days if not longer to iron it all out to a final decision.
Rip up DAL's leases and start all over with everyone else first then give SWA what's left over?  You are delusional. And you really have no clue what you are talking about.  Here you go again off the deep end as Delta is getting squeezed yet again.
I am positive Delta will be accommodated thru July 6th as they are contractually liable to do so.  After that is what is at hand here.  Looks like SWA will be bringing in UAL's attorneys on their side as they were mentioned as not agreeing to the letter that was referenced...

You poor, poor fools are so naive. Don't you know that Delta is winning in the North Texas market? They foresaw this coming many years ago and had both Perry Mason and Matlock cryogenically frozen just to argue this case and also win $1,000,000,000,000 in damages that all the other carriers will have to pay them. In addition, a $50 Delta Punitive Quality Revenue Tax will be assessed on any ticket not purchased on Delta in any market, and turned directly over to them for their trouble.

no, E, it is about a political appointee in the DOT knowing what is going on.

You somehow think that a political appointee in the DOJ is supposed to be right even though they are in exactly the same position?
WN is being backed into a corner and all it takes is a DOT and DL who have had enough to force it all to court and WN's leases at DAL will be ripped up.

Let's hope it happens ASAP.

you and he can get all of the laughs you want.

you still will be wrong about the issue.

I guess when you completely make a fool out of yourself on the issue and argue against points where you are shown to be wrong, laughing at someone else is all you have left to do.

Then you should be laughing all the way to the bank. Cause you are #1 out here when one makes a fool of himself, PERIOD...

except the DAL case is not finished.

and when it is, you will very likely be the one that looks like the fool that you are.

Just like you have been about ATL and a dozen other subjects that you and others have tried to jump into and been proven wrong.

the only consolation is that you have a lot of company on this board.

Translation: DL has WN (and DAL and city of Dallas and AA and any other carrier) right where they want them.

that may or may not be accurate.

all that is true is that we now have 19 pages of one side speculating about DL's departure, none of which has been confirmed.....all we do now know is that the DOT has indeed ordered WN to accommodate DL which is what I suspected but didn't know for sure.

WN is in a lot worse position in this situation than you and a lot of people would like to think

A much more detailed description of the rules about fully utilizing a gate at DAL in this article. It really is very interesting and good info.  This case could go any direction. But I am happy that SWA was the first to bring it to the courts instead of waiting like Delta does...

Southwest Goes to Court over Dallas Love Field
You should be proud that your airline is now suing the .gov because they wont let them be monopolistic enough.
