But you appear eager to champion the virtues of an association that is contrived to ensure maintaining dues at the expense of TRUE REPRESENTATION for the membership. SO I guess you can take our right to vote for representation away. Have fun Lucy.NYer said:Aw, don't be sore Charlie Brown. I promise I won't take away the football this time, try again!
So basically, more of the same.toroshark said:an association that is contrived to ensure maintaining dues at the expense of TRUE REPRESENTATION for the membership.
A Charlie Brown reference? Is that message on one of your cars bumper stickers? Next to the rainbow decal?NYer said:

An excellent metaphor which could easily be used to describe what the TWU has been doing to its membership for my entire career.NYer said:Aw, don't be sore Charlie Brown. I promise I won't take away the football this time, try again!
Wow. That is so true.2ndGENAMT said:An excellent metaphor which could easily be used to describe what the TWU has been doing to its membership for my entire career.

You must be foaming at the mouth anticipating a windfall from the TWU/Association. After all, fleet service (YOU) have fared pretty well under the bus driver union. So it is understandable why you are for this sham association. Not a bad deal for your job classification. If were in your shoes, I'd be ecstatic making the salary you make. It's obvious you don't care for mechanics, maybe out of jealousy? You sure sound like you have skin in the game where mechanics are concerned.....I would think an anti mechanic ilk like your self would love to see the mechanics leave the bus driver union....But then again, there wouldn't be any coat tails to ride on.NYer said:
And feeling that way, you guys still didn't take advantage of the extended time it took to get the SOC to get those cards signed and submitted. It's easy to cry and complain, but no one did the foot work to get AMFA on the ballot.
I guess the next step is the futile attempt of a write-in campaign. shm.
Metal I somewhat understand your position.MetalMover said:You must be foaming at the mouth anticipating a windfall from the TWU/Association. Fleet Service, the life of luxury, fast cars and loose women...maybe you should throw away that damn license and start slinging bags for a living. If we have it so damn good maybe you should grab hold of our coat tail and enjoy the ride.MetalMover said:You must be foaming at the mouth anticipating a windfall from the TWU/Association. Yep. Again with the "coat tails" fantasy. This guy is hilarious. Crandall is probably still cracking up laughing on his sailboat.AANOTOK said:Fleet Service, the life of luxury, fast cars and loose women...maybe you should throw away that damn license and start slinging bags for a living. I think I'm rooting for the AMFA more than you guys are. At least then I can enjoy my six figure income without guilt.
C'mon guys/gals, get those cards signed!
And what non- mechanics need to understand is that mechanics have not fared too well under the TWU. Pay wise fleet service is nearer to the top if industry pay while mechanics are at the bottom. No one work group has taken such a huge loss of headcount as the mechanics have. Forgive me, but I view the TWU as an enemy to my job classificationLa Li Lu Le Lo said:Metal I somewhat understand your position.
I want to say a few things though.
When they got rid of Fleet Service at TULE I did not feel like I had fared well. After I had worked for 10 years at a low wage (Junior Fleet coupled with a ridiculous 9 year "step" plan") and got laid off after 12 years I did not feel I fared so well.
At that time who got what did not matter. The only thing that mattered was how I was going to support myself and my wife. I had a lot of tough decisions to make about my future.
Things worked out better for me but not all were so lucky (or had prepared). I assure you people that had to quit, bump, or transfer did not feel like they fared so well.
It is important to remember we all have a common enemy and it is not other labor classifications. The common enemy is the inappropriate relationship the TWU has formed with AA management.
