TWU-IAM Finally Getting Ready for JCBA Negotiations

I assume you mean +7% of base right?  Does anyone know where that will put the AA guys?  Wonder if they are removing from elsewhere in the contract?  Good luck guys, but you guys still need alot of return to the contract that the co has taken in the past, but, I truely hope you guys do end up Delta +7%...
You are correct about the gutted contract.  7% above Delta and nothing else of value is the equivalent of painting the outside of the house but having no plumbing or electrical on the inside. It looks good from the street.

I went to the TWU Local 514 web site and looked for the TWU Informer archives. I appears that whoever runs the web page stopped archiving in 2013.

Basically there were a list of items that were n the most part financial. It basically which item was most important. Example: 401k, Vacation or pension reinstatement etc...
As I expected from the TWU.  They are so proud of what they comprised that it's all gone.  And gee, just so happened to stop archiving in 2013, how convenient...

Scorp, do you have examples of where that would put AA mechs?  Where are the Delta mechs at per hour and bennies?  I know we have seen guesses out here before when comparing the two, but was wanting a more realistic numbers if someone has them.  Thx in advance.  Read between the lines before signing the D+7%, like you said it will look good from the street...

It has been posted on here before.  IIRC Delta's AMTs are at about $39 & change right now.  They are due a 4% raise on April 1rst.  That will put them a little above $41.00.

Surveys?  What a joke. Like Buck said it was all giv-backs to the company.  This survey crap by the TWU was the same ole BS the TWU has put on for the last 30 plus years, it was full of concessions to pick from that was predetermained and layed out by the TWU.  Very sad indeed.  I really do feel sorry for you guys if you are forced onto keeping the TWU and/or IAM...

I agree on the survey issue.  Most likely, it can and will be used against the membership.  The excuses for coming back with yet another bad contract to vote on, will be attributed to the memberships survey results.  Since no regular members (non international or simple ass kizzer types) will be privey to the actual survey results, we are left trusting the TWU & IAM leadership - what could go wrong?

Just tried to call the TWU Local 514 at 2:29pm 2/25/2015 and their answering machine is taking messages. Does anyone have all of the TWU Informers saved since 2013?

IIRC their was a letter put out stating that the Informer was going to be discontinued..I did an archive search on the 514 website but couldn't come up with it..

Ok, I may have a copy coming of the survey either way. The point was that a survey that is all give back serves little or no purpose. No one wants to give anything back.

I tried to upload a photo of the survey but the file was to big. It wasn't so much a survey as it was a priority list that you were supposed to put a number next to a topic/subject. Also heard that at one of the Union meetings they showed the results and as you can guess the #1 on the priority list was job security..
I still have my copy if you have any trouble getting it.

What a bunch of wankers, the boys at 514 are doing their best to get us less, the 591 guys are doing their best to just litigate everything, and the international is a bunch of idiot bus drivers. We're screwed.

Lombardo is a mechanic, Samuelson is a track inspector and none of those "idiot bus drivers" ever agreed or brought anything back to their members like Jim Little and Don Videtich did and those bus drivers never voted to accept contracts like we did.  They have better pay, benefits and job security than we do.

We have guys with 20plus years quitting AA to get jobs under contracts Samuelson's Local negotiated.  Recently AA lost one of their best mechanics at JFK, a guy who came up with scores of suggestions under the AAchievers program that saved AA millions, quit and go to the LIRR. Dozens of others (even in management) are already working for other companies and trade away most of their days, resulting in the biggest problem being that those who only work AA and pick up their shifts are running into duty time limit issues, my understanding is that 90% of ASAPs are related to guys working OT.

So your answer is to rush into a five year deal where we just get 11% over what Delta is getting now , 2% per year for the next 4, no profit sharing (so in reality we are still 5% below what Delta is getting now) , and likely see our pension turned over to the IAMNPF?

Hold up a mirror to see the real idiot.

So.. what exaxtly are you doing Bob? What have you done to help get the membership a better agreement? And.. does your buddy Harry agree the association is going to take our pension?
