It's never really been a credible option, they've been talking about since 1961.

Funny thing, the IAM at UAL was always saying something similar.....

Right up to the day they were decertified.

And what happened to AMFA  at UA?

They were decertified by the ibt .... which changes nothing concerning the IAM decertification at UAL.

As has already been pointed out on these boards on numerous occasions - the IAM has lost more Mechanic members than AMFA ever had.

And I WAS an airline employee for 20 years and long time IAM Member, he was not.

So?  Doesn't change the fact that there is more to your story and your current connection with the IAM than you've admitted to here.

And the only sizable group they have are at the bottom of the industry and have been there since 2002!

You have to have more to lose more.

AMFA has lost 85% of their total peak membership.

Oh and BTW, having more and losing more isn't exactly a glowing endorsement for the IAM.
Nor AMFA.

What do you care about AMFA?
You are not M&R.
I've asked him that very same question....Of course, he doesn't care whether or not the mechanics go AMFA or another union for that matter. He is just PRO TWU because he has done alright by them.
