If Tulsa does lose enough heads then the line would outnumber Tulsa & would have the Majority to get whatever contract they want at Tulsa's expense .... Not liking that scenario much.
What, the shoe would be on the other foot.
Say it isn't so...!!!

Bob, is Sam being truthful? He said that in the Negotiations the Line Presidents are constantly pushing for Overhaul & the Line to separate & have separate contracts because the Line thinks Overhaul should be paid MRO pay while the Line gets paid Airline Mechanic pay,

Has anyone received their new voting pin?
NOW YOU KNOW HOW THE LINE HAS BEEN FEELING FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS!
YOU DON'T LIKE IT DO YOU?
ONCE TULSA HEADS ARE REDUCED, YES SIR THE LINE WILL OUTNUMBER TULSA THANKS TO OUTSOURCING.
FREE AT LAST! FREE AT LAST!
THANK GOD ALMIGHTY, WE'RE FREE AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is untrue, yes a line President did say that if Tulsa is willing to accept lower rates of pay and give away benefits and workrules every time the company threatens to cut heads then we should seperate, that there is no community of interest between those of us who favored fighting to restore the profession and those who were willing to drive it to the bottom because they are afraid of what the company will do. There was no constant push, it was a statement repeated a few timesout of fustration during negotiations in response to the willingness of the Tulsa guys to give away anything as long as Tulsa kept its headcount and 1/7th rule. Stemming no doubt from the fact that for several months negotiations were hung up on the 1/7th rule then onec it was settled the "time for nut cutting and there's going to be some hurt feeling around here" comment and Tulsa unwillingness to call for release. I'm hoping that the three guys that represent Tulsa in negotiations do not reflect the feelings of the majority in Tulsa. The actual votes from the last two failed debacles support those hopes. There ended up being a little over a 100 people in the contract meeting today, Sam Cirri led it I did not see John Hewitt anywhere, I thought Sam did a decent job of telling people why he thinks they should vote yes, Local 514 is not neutral this time around he said they are absolutely recommending a yes vote & that he did not think the negotiators would be able to get anymore anytime soon & in the meantime under the term sheet AA would layoff at least 2,500 people since there wouldn't be an early out for the older people to leave, He said that in the Negotiations the Line Presidents are constantly pushing for Overhaul & the Line to separate & have separate contracts because the Line thinks Overhaul should be paid MRO pay while the Line gets paid Airline Mechanic pay, He said he is adamantly against any kind of separation & has been fighting it.

No its not fair but cirri said he can't get more & I intend to vote them out next year when they come up for re election.
The early out is going to be massive & Tulsa will be smaller than line afterwards but payback will have to wait for at least 6 years, line deserves payback on Tulsa no doubt about it but I want to leave before they get it ......lol

As far as the 2500 getting laid off the company already went through the RIF process with us, the number is already below 1900, that many have already left. (At LGA weve had a Dozen people leave since the filing, that nearly 10%). Sure they could be spiteful and not offer the Early Out but then they would be laying off their lowest cost workers and keeping higher cost workers.
And how do you picture that scenario? That instead of giving concessions for jobs only to see the company take the jobs anyway that the Union would push to bring our pay and benefits more in line with the airline industry?
While some guys dont express themselves that clearly the majority on the line do not want to see OH make MRO wages, they just dont want OH to force the line to work for between $20k and $57k less than what other line mechanics get paid.
I dont think that even in the event of abrogation that the Line would outnumber OH, first of all they would have to find places to do the work, this MLBO would give them all the time they need, but I do think that even if this passes that Tulsa will no longer have hegemony over the M&R agreement. I believe that the 737s and some Airbus will end up in Dallas, the 767 and 777 will be outsourced overseas. This would expand DWH and the trend would be continued growth in DFW at the expense of Tulsa. So the change will come, but you will be making around 20% less when you land somewhere else. Read the language, there is nothing in there that keeps Tulsa open, let alone at its present volume.
