TWU and the Company reached a Tentative Agreement

If Tulsa does lose enough heads then the line would outnumber Tulsa & would have the Majority to get whatever contract they want at Tulsa's expense .... Not liking that scenario much.

What, the shoe would be on the other foot.

Say it isn't so...!!!

NOW YOU KNOW HOW THE LINE HAS BEEN FEELING FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS!

YOU DON'T LIKE IT DO YOU?

ONCE TULSA HEADS ARE REDUCED, YES SIR THE LINE WILL OUTNUMBER TULSA THANKS TO OUTSOURCING.

FREE AT LAST! FREE AT LAST!
THANK GOD ALMIGHTY, WE'RE FREE AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He said that in the Negotiations the Line Presidents are constantly pushing for Overhaul & the Line to separate & have separate contracts because the Line thinks Overhaul should be paid MRO pay while the Line gets paid Airline Mechanic pay,
Bob, is Sam being truthful?

Bob, is Sam being truthful?

I have talked to my president about this and according to him this is a lie they did offer to let title 2 vote on their own because as witnessed by the last vote they seem to want to accept this POS I had a Facilities guy at DFW get pissed at me and several other Mechanic's when we told him we were voting no he could not believe it I think they should be allowed to accept this if they want but the line was not pushing for the separation simply offering to stay out of the way if that is what title 2 wants

I work at DFW everyday I only here one thing over and over again, why want Tulsa just sign the AMFA cards and lets get this over with and now with the IBT thing alot of guys view Tulsa as spoiled children always having to have it their way. I tell the guys at DFW. their are three sets of folks in Tulsa those who get it and sign AMFA cards regularly, those who do not and support the TWU/IBT and those that are just plain ANTI-Union.

In the end this title 1 vs title 2 Line vs Overhaul thing is the TWU trying to manipulate people for there own good hell sam does not even set in or negiotiations Hewitt does and he usaully shows up with INTL.

No I don't like it, I very much like Overhaul out numbering the Line stations & don't want that to change at least not till I leave in 6 years
Paybacks are a b$tch & I want no part of it ...... LOL
Voted no last time & stood in front of the base with a vote no sign but with the extra pay on this one & the few other enhancements I think I'm going to vote for this one, hopefully payback will have to wait 6 years. ;-)

THE 1113 ASK WILL BE FAIR?

SHARED GAIN?

So the APA gets 13.5% stake in the new company

The APFA gets 3.0% stake in the new company

And the TWU claims "still being negotiated"

Are you kidding me?
Vote first and then they will tell us later what we voted for or against.

I thought the 20% ask for each work group was to be fair? Does this sound fair to you?

VOTE OUT THESE STOOGES!

A YES VOTE ENSURES AA AMTS WILL DEAD LAST IN PAY, BENEFITS, AND WORK RULES FOR 6 MORE YEARS !!!!
GUARANTEED BY THE TWU !!!

No its not fair but cirri said he can't get more & I intend to vote them out next year when they come up for re election.
The early out is going to be massive & Tulsa will be smaller than line afterwards but payback will have to wait for at least 6 years, line deserves payback on Tulsa no doubt about it but I want to leave before they get it ......lol

There ended up being a little over a 100 people in the contract meeting today, Sam Cirri led it I did not see John Hewitt anywhere, I thought Sam did a decent job of telling people why he thinks they should vote yes, Local 514 is not neutral this time around he said they are absolutely recommending a yes vote & that he did not think the negotiators would be able to get anymore anytime soon & in the meantime under the term sheet AA would layoff at least 2,500 people since there wouldn't be an early out for the older people to leave, He said that in the Negotiations the Line Presidents are constantly pushing for Overhaul & the Line to separate & have separate contracts because the Line thinks Overhaul should be paid MRO pay while the Line gets paid Airline Mechanic pay, He said he is adamantly against any kind of separation & has been fighting it.
That is untrue, yes a line President did say that if Tulsa is willing to accept lower rates of pay and give away benefits and workrules every time the company threatens to cut heads then we should seperate, that there is no community of interest between those of us who favored fighting to restore the profession and those who were willing to drive it to the bottom because they are afraid of what the company will do. There was no constant push, it was a statement repeated a few timesout of fustration during negotiations in response to the willingness of the Tulsa guys to give away anything as long as Tulsa kept its headcount and 1/7th rule. Stemming no doubt from the fact that for several months negotiations were hung up on the 1/7th rule then onec it was settled the "time for nut cutting and there's going to be some hurt feeling around here" comment and Tulsa unwillingness to call for release. I'm hoping that the three guys that represent Tulsa in negotiations do not reflect the feelings of the majority in Tulsa. The actual votes from the last two failed debacles support those hopes.

As far as the 2500 getting laid off the company already went through the RIF process with us, the number is already below 1900, that many have already left. (At LGA weve had a Dozen people leave since the filing, that nearly 10%). Sure they could be spiteful and not offer the Early Out but then they would be laying off their lowest cost workers and keeping higher cost workers.

And how do you picture that scenario? That instead of giving concessions for jobs only to see the company take the jobs anyway that the Union would push to bring our pay and benefits more in line with the airline industry?

While some guys dont express themselves that clearly the majority on the line do not want to see OH make MRO wages, they just dont want OH to force the line to work for between $20k and $57k less than what other line mechanics get paid.

I dont think that even in the event of abrogation that the Line would outnumber OH, first of all they would have to find places to do the work, this MLBO would give them all the time they need, but I do think that even if this passes that Tulsa will no longer have hegemony over the M&R agreement. I believe that the 737s and some Airbus will end up in Dallas, the 767 and 777 will be outsourced overseas. This would expand DWH and the trend would be continued growth in DFW at the expense of Tulsa. So the change will come, but you will be making around 20% less when you land somewhere else. Read the language, there is nothing in there that keeps Tulsa open, let alone at its present volume.

I Voted No and I Mean It!!! [/indent]

We are now being asked (July 23 to August 8) to vote on yet another concessionary agreement. What part of NO do they not get! Our members did the right thing voting NO on the last proposal. This one is even worse!

Here's why!

1. First of all, the Company wants to be relieved of any penalty for reduction of our union members. They want to totally eliminate "System Protection." This means, if it passes, the Company could layoff as many people as they wanted when they wanted. No one would be protected-not even those hired prior to September 98.
2. Next, the outsourcing percentage under the proposal would go from 20% to 35%. Plus, if TAESL terminates, the Company would raise the outsource percentage even more. (BEWARE, THE BUMP AND ROLL WILL NOT IGNORE YOU.)
3. Now for Available Seat Miles (ASM) on Eagle. We now have a 6% cap on ASMs, but the Company wants to change to NO CAP. The result could be eliminating AA planes in all markets and replacing with Eagle flights. The result: Less AA metal to work. More cuts in head count.
4. Here are more unacceptable provisions for overtime and field trip work. The proposal has wide open language that lets the Company dictate overtime and field trip procedures. For instance, it says that 30 days after signing, the Company will "CONFER" with TWU about overtime. What does that mean other than Can't Offer Nothing For Employees' Retirement! We must insist on specific language that protects us ALL.
5. And, even more unbelievable: The Company want to erase any Letter of Agreement for field trip procedures. They say-after signing-that TWU representatives would have "opportunity for input." Again, who knows what that means?

These are only five of the really bad examples of language in the Company's proposal. I could offer dozens of reasons why I voted NO. Someone told me the other day that I should be even more outspoken. Here goes.

I voted NO to bring this proposal back to the membership and I meant NO. In fact, I mean HELL, NO!

Payback? All the line wants is what everyone else is getting. Not looking to screw anyone, just not wanting to get screwed. Are you saying that when you voted you were voting to screw the line? I hope not, I can understand (but not agree with) the mentality that $70k will go pretty far in Tulsa and I think thats how many down there look at it but I dont think that many in Tulsa felt that they wanted to screw the line.

Hopeful, is it really vengence you want or is the ability to provide for your family what you really desire?

I agree Bob Tulsa is going to be smaller no matter what & it won't take much for the line to out number us but I want one more contract before it happens & I think it will be this one, after that in 6 years the line can have its revenge, guess I will have to stand on the other side of the corner Tom with my sign ........ Lol
