TWU and the Company reached a Tentative Agreement

That appears to be the strategy of both the company and the International, wait us out and keep bringing back worse deals.

Thats why we must continue to VOTE NO. They dont have to live under this , We Do. Sure it would be great to put it behind us but not if it means 6 years where things will continue to get worse. Its not just the money, look at the workrules, some stations have already told their guys that if they want to bid certain shifts it wont be by seniority, it will be by qualifications, and they get to pick who gets qualified!!

Slowly the face of the Committee has changed, many of the Yes Voters are gone but we still need more changes. I cant figure out Tulsa though. The team thats in there now was against the 2010 TA but in favor of the LBO and the LBO2 or Modified LBO. Their number one issue was the 1/7th rule, we stuck with the bases on that even though nobody else in the industry has it. We spent around 6 months argueing for that, only to hear that once that issue was settled one of the Tulsa negotiators turned around and said "Well its time to get to the nut-cutting and there's going to be some hurt feelings around here". AFW never threw us under the Bus though so I dont regret supporting the issue since they felt strongly about it but I was hoping that they would support us in our objectives to at least get back what most of the industry never gave up. The Tulsa were the biggest opponents of taking things to the next step during negotiations, release, and even when the motion passed to ask for a release I knew the International would find a way to block it until they could force a revote when the numbers were in their favor, which is what they did.I dont think they understand Unionism and how things work. You get what you are willing to fight for. You guys really need to pick better leaders.

Yes we definitely need to pick better leaders, some Mechanics did vote for Cirri a fleet service clerk & I can't understand why, out of 7,000 people only a few people are willing to run for office, Tulsa Members apparently just don't want to be officers, I don't blame them though because I don't either.

Less than two hours ago you said the problem was the membership.
Now you indicate it is your negotiators.
Which is it?

And now the Teamsters button wearer caves in, takes his money and leaves the rest of us with 6 years of crap.

The Negotiators are Members ! Were all Members except for the International.

The secrecy obstacle is our greatest hinderance. We have no idea what's is the LBO's until the 514 "leaders" rollcall vote to bring it to the membership instead of polling the membership beforehand. Again these weaklings will be one termers and we'll be back at square one.

Bob, I wish you nothing but the best of luck with your VOTE NO stance on this POS communist ultimatum by AA. I said a long time ago that one of the reasons I resigned was the non-sense exhibited by the INTL. The structure of the TWU must change in order for the AMT's to have proper representation. This LBO vote reflects the problems with the TWU. When you have a large maint. base like AFW, and the 5 major Line station Title 1 presidents outmanuvered by 6 Title II representatives and Tulsa......there's something wrong with the system. I'm not exactly sure how anyone can change this, but YOU and the other Line presidents better sit down and come up with a solution, if not an all out revolt against this one-sided system that the INTL purposely has in place. The 800lb gorilla did it again.....and then people wonder why there's a Line vs. OH debate.
I left AA a couple of months back because the TWU absolutely sucks and I couldn't justify paying those crooks at the INTL another dime for shitty representation. Good luck, my friend, and I really hope everything works out for the best for ALL the amt's at AA!!!

Seperate from O/H.....It's the only way.!!

In a couple of years the Line will out number overhaul & the Line stations will get what they want, with the average age being 49 a lot of overhaul will be retiring after this contract I suspect so more power to them, I will be gone for sure.

As the cards play out it will be interesting if Line actually does outnumber OH when you take into account Line Maint. outsourcing. There are Carriers or Maint. only companies at just about every station that has aircraft sitting overnight that offer any kind of overnight check you would ever need instead of AA staffing these stations with AMTs that only have anything to do when there is an aircraft at the gate or hangar and then call for field-trips from the overhaul base. Outsourcing line would be easier and faster than any overhaul work. Just something to think about.

After all the anti-Overhaul comments you expect me to sign an AMFA card, you guys are dreaming.

Seems the finger pointing at Tulsa has begun. I noticed on another thread Informer posted a letter from the President of 565 dated July 19, 2012 and he offers an admission within the 3rd paragraph that the company is done talking to the Line locals, and from what I read the company is done with trying to establish concensual terms. Seems they will go forward if this TA is rejected and step back while the judge abrogates the agreement and then allows the company to step forward and impose their March 22nd terms of employment....It's the end of the game as we know it....just saying

Realtychk that's what makes America great you don't have to if you don't want too! If you feel good with the twu feel free to indulge yourself with mediocrity!

Tulsa is the problem. Our union leaders have historically endorsed every bad deal that has come down the pike. 83(B scale) 89 (flex benefits, loss of free medical) 95 (5 and 5 traded for SRPs and low raises) 2003 (loss of everything). Local 514 had a "Pajama Party" with management and sold our souls to working together. As a matter of fact, in 2003 the way I found out about our T/A was a stock clerk had a copy of the maint. and related T/A!!!! Local 514 is now in the process of trying to convince the membership to vote yes on this T/A. They brought in title II guys to stack the deck in order to bring it back for a vote. I am embarassed to be part of this local. They like to look at the moment (6th week of vac give away) and not look at who or how many it will affect in the near future. I and several others tried to go to meetings and change things. This is not possible. The majority of the membership does not want to educate themselves and vote however their leadership tells them to. This is Tulsa and this is why the line stations get so frustrated. Can you blame them?
