if they don't, the Alliance can negotiate in our behalf.swamt said:I agree IF the NMB runs and controls the election...
So you're separating the question of approval by the Members and approval of the NMB as a representative body?swamt said:I know this already--who is going to conduct this said alliance vote. I have been told in writing by the NMB and posted all to see and read that it is out of the NMB jurisdiction, and it's an internal union issue...
Put it this way, I don't want the alliance. SO let the fight begin!NYer said:the alternative is to spend millions of dollars fighting each other and trying to get a foothold, hold off negotiations for a longer period of time, let other groups cash in on their negotiations.....extend the chaos for another few years. In the meantime, the AMFA folks continue to complain every step of the way.
OR
Let the Association move forward, save the millions for the next AMFA debacle, get to negotiations quicker, take advantage of some of the profits on the table, prevent several more years of chaos in a representational fight....In the meantime, the AMFA folks continue to complain every step of the way.
Let's see......
Two loser unions negotiating one contract.. I can't wait. We will be bent so far over with our butt cheeks spread so far apart, we will meet a bridge to connect them.NYer said:if they don't, the Alliance can negotiate in our behalf.

You just may want to speak to a few FA's to understand how there pay works and how many hours they are basically working and away from their homes that they are not being paid for.bigjets said:You're assuming the alliance will negotiate raises for us. The IAM couldn't even negotiate better pay then a TWU bankruptcy contract, and the TWU can't even negotiate a better contract for its mechanics then what the APFA did for it's FAs.
I would prefer we have no union and the company will just give us what UAL and delta mechs make, according to Doug, without paying for the right to work at AA by paying the TWU.
FAs work 80 hours a month mechanics work 160 hours a month. FAs got more equity per FA then mechanics receaved. Yes I'm jelious.
Well, Bigjets, then just start a vote for "no union" campaign. If the majority agree then you get your wish. If you lose then you'll be mired under the protection of a CBA.bigjets said:You're assuming the alliance will negotiate raises for us. He already has the outsourcing capability thanks to the language in the TWU CBA. Read it closely, it's not as rock solid as you think.Overspeed said:
I'm sure Parker would love to give you what DL and UA mechanics make. Along with the outsourcing of all (DL) or most (UA) overhaul.
I didn't..So what was PMUS highest headcount?700UW said:You cant say the same about the PMUS IAM CBA.
So the bottom line is that OH outsourcing is the main reason for reduction in numbers. The one thing about the New American is fleet size. It is likely that most of the heaviest checks will be outsourced as currently done with the lighter ones done in house.700UW said:Probably around 10,000.
