Any new talk/rumors of an increase in the AMT headcount in TULE ??
No, not at this time. There is a inner reduction within the MD-80 Group, which of course composes the JT8-200 Engine shop and all of the support shops for the airlines major aircraft for many years. Inner reduction at this time appears to mean some JT8, CF-6 and some CFM-56 mechanics are being moved out to the hangars. We in hangar 1&2 received approximately 60 of those and some machinists and maybe some welders. But an direct increase in headcount I am not aware of any. Anyone else?

As per past practices AA will probably maintain or increase the headcount until the jcba is passed, then who knows what will happen.
Past practice for AA has been since at least 1983 a "B-Scale" type approach. Grant contractual provisions to those employees only to get the savings to the company from those yet to be hired.

Has anyone seen this?
I hope the guys in Tulsa that believe in the TWU is looking out for their best interest will wake up real soon. What was that they always say? Vote YES to save jobs. I think that is getting old folks.

The Ass. owns the work, where ever it may be.... Get a grip boys, things are changing, the impotent union has no power to alter any of it.

The "Impotent"  Association does not want to alter any of it. The whole Social structure of AFL-CIO unionism is to gain membership. Little or no regard for the skill sets of really anyone.

i think they call that "the writing on the wall"

even though everyone is going to airbus genfam.....
Doesn't mean much that people are going to genfam. The aircraft will come to TUL for various types of work. But maybe not the heavy checks that TUL is accustomed to getting. I went to Follker school and NEVER saw the aircraft.

You forgot to post this part.

New York had the ninth highest incidence of cancer in the country

Fixed that for you.

You're welcome.
You left out the other half of the sentence:

and the second-best mortality-to-incidence ratio, with just 32 deaths for every 100 new diagnoses per year over the reporting period, compared to 36.3 across the country.

So what he said was right, If you live in Tulsa you stand a high chance of getting Cancer, and if you stay there odds are higher that you will die from it. NY has more reported Cancer cases but the second best record for curing it. One has to wonder with places like Sloan-Kettering drawing in people from across the country does that skew the number of reported cases in NY up?

Maybe here is another reason to leave Tulsa and work in New York. I thought this was interesting since Tulsa and New York are always in the discussions. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/states-most-people-dying-cancer-151632313.html
The only complaint I have ever had about OK is the brutal summers and the subpar roads. Overall Tulsa is a pretty good place to live. I do have other places I would prefer to live but it is weather that drives those ambitions not any fault I find with the city itself.
