Transport Workers and Machinist Union to Jointly Represent Ground Workers at the "New" American Airl

Talk to the pax service people upstairs in phx......get some insite before assuming anything..... ask them how they got things back from their BK contract......

What ? PHX PSA had no contact and had some of the worst paid and work rules in the industry

According to NMB rules you can not have two unions on the floor representing the same group with the same CBA. Who enforces the CBA? IAM or TWU?
When we become single carrier status you have to have one CBA. So how can two unions enforce one group and one CBA?

would I pay the same union dues as the TWU guys , or would our union dues be different rates ... I for one would not think it's fair if I had to pay more than what they are paying .

i believe it would be laid out similarily the way the cwa/ibt is done ibt the west cwa the east and the cwa/afa afa the f/as cwa customer service agents i long ago thought this would be what it would come down to..

1aa i would imagine that the new combined union would be effective after the close of the merger but i dont know how long it would take to get a joint contract but now given that this announcement has been made i have to wonder if the us nd team is now going to raise the stakes if you will during their upcoming negogiations im not sure if or how that can be done but it sounds to me that they have a lot more leverage now and they should use it to try to get the best deal possible

freedom i dont think you would pay 2 union dues... if youre us fsa you pay iam dues if your aa then the twu dues

Read the agreement...the stations are already listed as to who will be IAM and who will be TWU.........

Example....PHX-IAM.............SFO-TWU

is there a list of cities that would be represented by twu and by iam.. as i understand sfo will go twu and phx iam but im wondering if sfo is mainline for us and how could they go twu

after single carrier, you dont have to have one contract. I dont even think the dispatchers filed single carrier at united yet and its been 3 years after merger. Also, one certification can cover the association (mother organization) and two or more unions can administer it. Get ready for a "where the hell is my union...who is my union" explosion. regards

Did anyone else see the other signed agreement between the iam and twu today which says the twu will push for the iampf for all of its members??? Warning will Robinson!!! Any twu member that wants to be strapped in a dying pension that sucks bigtime needs his head examined.
