While I dont favor arbitration I dont think the company's arguement that they have more mechanics on payroll would be a very compelling arguement in arbitration.

So if the contract was arbitrated, who would arbitrate it? Since the contract is between the intl and the company, would it be safe to say that they would arbitrate it and sit on a panel if there was one?

I haven't seen one fight from the TWU yet in 20 years....On the otherhand at Safeway a friggin grocery store union put up a better fight. One more example at General dynamics my first week there it was like a War Zone. Nothing got done for a month over 6 dollars a paycheck for benefits...They had rallies outside the whitehouse (management offices) so loud you coudnt even hear yourself think.....in the end we paid nothing.

I'm not a fan of arbritration, its merely a tool of big business ,clearly slanted towards management most times. I wouldn't hesitate to walk at AA its way past time....The arrogance this company shows its employees daily has weakened any loyalty we had after shared Sacrifice.Theres not much left but packing up....

Jet Fuel Hedge Positions/ AA not shown

I guess I just don't get it.

AA makes serious claims that other carriers have the advantage of outsourcing more work, but give zero specifics as to what items we do in house that could be done cheaper if outsourced. Constantly braggin in the media that more in-house maintenance is being done and then claim it is a disadvantage. Well then why don't they do something about it? Mis-Manage the maintenance program, then whine that others are doing bette all the while dishing out performance based compensation. W-T-F is that? And more importantly, who's fault is that? This stalling of negotiations is costing each member that has zero control over in-house/outsource and you want me to do what? Management on the other is whining to the labor group about something they should control.

I can tell you what I want and need, I want and need a friggin labor agreement.

If you want more outsource then get specific and tell what and how much you think you need.

This BS of Power Point Presentations withot facts is nothing more than proof that the 12 or so management that were at the session have NO CLUE how to manage or run an Airline. Their idea of management is hire a consulting firm, and then whine to the union and see if the union sympathy leads to an idea on how to manage. What a joke!

Are they not whining to us asking us to give some advice for how to manage?

Then cut their friggin bonus awards, let them leave and hire someone who can lead.

Which leads right back to my first comment on this thread.
Who really gives a #### anymore, there is far more wrong with this company than our lack of a labor agreement.

The Managemtnt seems to think the Union is in control of managing the company, and the Union is complaining about bonus awards for those that think that way. Checkmate we're done.

I'm not sure exactly what the TWU current table postion is, but why don't you guys just shorten the length of the deal, find a couple items that AA is looking for (and that you can live with), get some money, and pick up your fight later when "maybe" the economy and the industry looks better?

"We'll get 'em next time".....over & over & over!!!

Actually I think that might be one of the problems. In the process of trying to "get'em" neither side gets anything. That's gotta be frustrating for the TWU members and American.

Frustrating for the twu members, not so much for the twu international and company.

"neither side gets anything"?

The company got EVERYTHING they will get from me because of the twu. I am NOT voting yes on any t/a that offers any concessions. I ALREADY GAVE!

Way to easy!! Lets hold out for everything, say around 2020 we might get something, and in the mean time continue to work overtime to pay bills, continue to live at work more than at home, and on the way to work, mutter something like "$55 an hour or nothing". Wonder which side is winning in this scenario being played out.

I gave at the office for 8 years, and I am numb to the threat of bankruptcy, no more concessions. Go bankrupt, we did our share!

Have you posed this questions to your "friends"? You know, the ones that work for AA who are happy with their pay, benefits and leadership.
I'm sure they will give you the answer you are looking for!
