Why did the IAM not allow a vote to go ahead with the planners, and instead got the NLRB to accrete them without a vote? Why did the planners not get to vote on their contract? Why did 19 workgroups get thrown into 2 classifications, when none of the jobs do the same thing? Why do planners not have automatic recall like the rest of the people in the M & R contract?
I don't think the company is perfect, I hardly think the IAM is perfect, and I certainly don't think any other union would be helpful. Things like the above are why so many are fed up with big labor in general. Especially when so many DL141 are losing jobs and taking paycuts, and then watching lists get printed with union leadership taking pay raises. It makes many feel just as disillusioned with our representation as we are with management.
