I have never disputed what SWA has farmed out. It's 70-75%. It has always been that range of percentile no matter what union was here. But AMFA is the only union that has been successful in bringing in house 2 of the 4 heavy lines of maint. as well as several other lines of maint from mod lines to "C" checks, and some future "C" checks coming in from the AT purchase from the direct language that AMFA nego into contract. No other union can say or claim anything like this at SWA, not even the teamsters that were here for well over 20 years. BTW AMFA has also been very successful here for adding headcount the most of all unions together that have been here. SWA said many years ago that they will pay us industry leading wages as long as they can continue run the company as lean as possible like they have been able to for the last 40 plus years. This has been very beneficial to the members as SWA never tries to over hire like the other airlines and put their employees on roller coaster rides of lay-off after lay-offs...Because AMFA has been able to keep the wages high, WN only has three lines of heavy with a fourth starting for a fleet of 589 planes.
Do the math, they outsource most of their work, AA, US or even UA will give you WN's wages, if you give them WN's workrules.
