Sully's Today Show Appearance Canceled

Once again it seems that USAPA’s word is useless. It must be in the C&BL to not live up to bargains made.

That wasn't a USAPA screw-up.

It was the Sandcastle.

They went out and hired a PR firm to try to control the whole 1549 situation, presumably to make their incompetent selves look good with positive publicity, and also, presumably, to keep the AFA and USAPA from gaining any leverage from the fact that those five heroes are among the lowest paid in their professions, while US Airways management are the highest paid in theirs. (Their reward for running the airline that leads the league in consumer complaints every quarter, and still loses money on oversold flights.)

Thankfully, the unions saw through that ruse, and hired their own PR firm or firms.

You should have seen the schedule that the company hacks had for Sully. God Himself couldn't have been in all those places at all those times.

But, why should that surprise anybody?

Oh I see it was the companies fault that USAPA and Sully did not follow through on their commitment.

I forgot USAPA’s way of operating. Blame someone else. Very easy to fix. A commitment was made to let the Today show have the first interview. I can understand waiting until the NTSB has finished.

Now keep your word. He made a commitment, follow through.

The only one that chose not to do the interview was Sully. He can call his own shots now. Now you are telling Sully to keep his commitment. He had a very good reason I am sure to make the decision he made.

Yes 5 years in the airline business made you a genius I see. america west pilot to the rescue again, you guys rock.

1 year, 5 years, 30 years. Airline business any business. A commitment is an obligation to be fulfilled.

Maybe it is just an east thing that disallows honesty and integrity. This has nothing to do with AWA or me. Why insist on that. PA18 said that the company stopped him. Now you say he did it himself.

My only concern is keeping ones word. Is that possible for an east pilot?

Being a professional pilot is not a business, it is a profession. Sully is fortunate to have an adviser like you, with less than 5 years experience in airlines, to help him make decisions.

You know nothing about me. Wrong once again.

How about sticking to the subject. This is about discussions and commitments people make. Nothing to do with me.

Hmmmm.....maybe the COMPANY had setup the today show schedule, along with whatever other PR that had laid out. Maybe the unions looked at it, saw it for what it was for, (free PR for the company on the companies terms, etc etc etc) and pulled the reins in, so as to allow the crew to decompress and settle back to normal before doing the interviews and such. (again Most were commuters, end of a 4 day trip, extended even further, and how many days until seeing family after this happening??)

Either way, Im sure it's all USAPA's fault. couldn't be anything else.

When doing the interview with Katie on Feb 8, I think it would be nice to see the whole crew. They all did their part. By the way, any word on the FA that broke her legs. Let's give her a big GET WELL SOON.

Well, I'm happy she didn't break her legs but why did no one report that. Anyway, I wish her well and still hope the crew is in on the interview. Remember it took a crew.
