I have a theory......
 
I do not know if the Alliance / AMFA / No UNION vote has happened yet (and correct me if it has)  but I believe this might just be a ploy thought up by AA and the TWU so that TWU will have a positive to present before voting. The company needs it to look like TWU got a win so that the workers will vote to keep their puppet UNION in. If that is what is going on you should see this for what it really is...... fear.

I already covered this in another thread.

A Tulsa guy might say it's none of your business, oh but it is, if you're voting based on half truths or outright falsehoods your vote is effecting me.

Just asked an officer he said. Doesn't believe there will be a lay off and believes we will see some work coming to TUL but he didn't say 57 or 67 but mentioned some other fleet types and checks

Here is how the conversation went between me and a local 514 union official:
 
Him- 591 and the line were the ones who pushed the new line test.
 
Me- Oh yeah?  Peterson sent out a letter to his membership denying that.  He also said they disputed two of the questions and AA pulled them.  Why didn't local 514 dispute the test?
 
Him- We lost that with the BK agreement.  The company can change any test they want.  They can come up with any test they want and make any changes they feel like.
 
Me- If the company controls the tests, how did 591 get the old test changed?
 
Him- They are all for AMFA on the line.
 
I am paraphrasing a little bit but you can see where he reversed himself and changed the story.  Lots of that over the years from 514.

Speaking of Layoffs in Tulsa , When is AA going to start cutting lines in Tulsa ??
Some say this October,November RIF's are suppose to start for AMT's,  does anyone know ??

Forgive me if I am mistaken here.  But wasn't the layoffs coming expected?  I do believe shortly after the contract was sold hard by the TWU to the membership and it passed that the membership found out about the upcoming layoffs in Tulsa, but they only found out after contract passed do to some language that would get ironed out ata later date.   I think the numbers at the time were more like 400 to be on layoff or displaced, now it seems the number circulating is 800.  I honestly hope the 57 and 67 work will help deter or completely eliminate any layoffs at Tulsa, good luck to all you guys...

We are extremely over manned but the 514 president said he didn't feel they were going to have a lay off. So as far as the rumor goes it's completely false. But that being said I still think there will be one if a lot more work doesn't come through them doors.
