Hot off the presses Ron Ronderick is headed to PHL as of
July 17th to be in charge of a special task force to fix
PHL....here comes Mr FIX IT, brother do not trust this guy
he woudl lie right to your face.

2nd tour of duty in PHL I don't believe he did a great job
when he was here the first time. I wonder what kronies
he is bringing with him for his special task force.

Why do they have to go thru all this garbage to try and fix PHL. the most logicl answer is ask the folks who work
it day in and day out, but I forget who we are working for
this compnay will never get it, stupidity at its finest.

So whats Ron Ronderick's claim to fame, this is his second try hu.Oh I guess he knows were the badge office is,he can lead em there for starters...

Ron could not fix PHL when he was the station manager years ago and on the return visits to PHL. The problem can be fixed but the middle management needs to gain the support of their employees and also support the employees when they need help or tools to do their job. Management just like the workforce in PHL has lost it's airline experience with the retirement or departure of it's senior workers from the customer service and fleet service. Without the knowledge the inner workings of the airline management and the worker in PHL will always have trouble.
Also USAirways needs to have a onsite tech support to keep the equipment operational .Calling overseas for problems with operations gate manager software or calling PHX for peer to peer remote tech support is foolish. USAirways needs to replace the entire FOS/Shares systems .Simplify the fare structure and empower their dispatchers with the decisions of how and where a aircraft is to be operated not a customer service manager handling those decisions instead of a unlicensed manager. USAirways problems are bigger than PHL it's also CLT/PHX,,,and HDQ.They also need to put the load planning function back in the station control and decentralize it . The stations can better coordinate their flights than someone sitting in Pittsburgh.Prune the tree at the top not the roots.

What makes anyone think Tempe wants to "fix" PHL?

It is easy to fix!!! Give back hourly rate and double time and better starting pay.

Most of all of you think there is this magical plan to fix PHL.
It really boils down to being proud of what you do for a fare wage.

Ron Roderick ------sounds like someone associated with the WWF...perhaps a waterboy or something.

...empower their dispatchers with the decisions of how and where a aircraft is to be operated not a customer service manager handling those decisions instead of a unlicensed manager.

I don't know if that's a reference to East or West but I've never seen a customer service manager in the East have any say over those things. If that's a West thing then the problems are worse than I thought.

the PHL 17 directors from across the national will fix phl. but they dont have a chance with their slave wages and no cwa penison,f/a penison
and their low wage fleet servic crew.

Why would they not want to fix PHL?

I raised a question because I don't know an answer. Go figure.

When an entity like US consistently rails about an irritant like "PHL" and in response applies similar "fixes" which, as one might expect, accomplishes similar non-results, a rational person just might wonder whether a "fix" was ever intended.

The only time I saw PHL run relatively well was under Rakesh, but that was just prior to the time when everyone set their hair on fire, purged the ranks of wisdom and mgmts used the employees guilt (and greed) to molest them.

You cannot expect people to work in -20 to 120 temperature for less compensation than they could get at MacDonalds, promising them marginal "benefits", no retirement and employee travel they cannot use. Until you get past that, you are simply wasting time and money, which may be the real motive.

They have to go through this garbage because the answer you propose (which, I agree would be the most likely to work) would cost money.

Until Tempe is ready to start writing checks (and send cash for the necessary bribes in PHL), PHL will never be fixed no matter who they send there.

Who was it that got his car fire bombed when he tried to fix PHL with a little too much enthusiasm?

Since we're being nostalgic with the return of Rhoderick, what about an episode of "Where are they now".

Andy Hosey
Tom Renville (last I heard he was managing director of UA's Hawaii ops, after his Denver stint)
Jim Forbes
Terry Trainor
Dave Blakely
Scott Barkley

That's a start...
