Rock Salomon's Plan

Rock has my vote, as well as, us other so called "junior" f/as on the line...At least, he has new ideas and wants to clean house at the APFA...It's about time to stand up for what's right...BTW....What has happend to the mass exodus of all of these F/A's wanting to retire? Remember....the best 4 years is what is calculated to give you your retirement., and with the pay cuts those years are now gone......They are still on the line and not going anywhere...Why? You guys tell me?

What Unity?

The best four years would be from 1999 to 2003 and since it is your best 4 of 10, that means they could stay til May of 2009 before the retirement is altered.

Another thing to remember is that the APFA BOD is also in need of a house cleaning..
You have some people that have served for years and years who ARE the old time establishment. New officers and old school BOD will be like oil and water with both sides conspiring to get at the other.

You have to produce people who will run and then here is a novel approach, actually vote. So many of the available positions are "duly elected" or unopposed. When someone does put their name in the hat they are immediately dismissed as not having experience.

The smartest thing APFA could do would be to hire an Executive Director. A labor professional with the negotiating instincts of a rotweiler. Why not? That's what the company does...and it works for them. That way the union and its leadership could set policy and negotiating objectives, and be confident that they had someone in there who could pull it off. Lots of unions use this approach, and it works. It seems that the people who lay claim to union experience have been rolled by the company, and them who don't have experience probably will be rolled by the company. There is a big difference between someone who has leadership and vision, and someone who sits down with the company's attack dogs and is able to beat them at their own game.
