Ramp Rat Voting results second update

not sure I heard that PHX voted in the airport---perhaps in the breakroom---It may just be that most cities use their local lodge facilities, but again I'm not an expert

I thought the IAM by laws dictated the location. Regardless of that, America West (and I assume US Airways) don't like union anything on property. Of course since they NEED a "Yes" vote they were willing to bend the rules. Principals only apply when they suit the Company.

I believe they voted in the British Airways conference room on airport grounds.

Kev hit the nail on the head. This vote is a vote for every worker in the industry and it's about time unions are held accountable for bringing 'sloppy piss clam' sweethearts back.

To the other poster: Listen, you can line up all of the US AIRWAYS IAM AGC's and you can't find more than 2 years of college between them. Then they get all huffy when they come to the breakrooms and don't know what they are talking about. Personally, I don't think college is a requirement, it helps, biggest requirement is intelligence so you know when the company is 'hoodwinking' ya.

regards,

This is not about East vs West. Its about whats best for all of us(rampers). If we all stick together we(East and West) will all come out winners. Everybodys opinion counts and should be respected. The company wants to divide us and then play us against each other. Don't let this happen. Together we stand divided we fall.
THE EYES ARE WATCHING,
According to friends of mine, at other carriers, other fleet service groups are watching this T/A vote
very carefully. They are considering this to be the start of a revelution of sorts. Also was told management and other organized labor groups are watching with great interest. What this work group
is doing has been unfounded in the airline industry since the seventies. Massive turnouts for T/A vote!
The average is 50% or less but our has been above that. Also from a friend at the sandcastle, upper mgt
can't believe, fleet svc didn't run for the money. They are dumfounded esp. with the class 2 and west cities. Just goes to show what they think of our mentality. Stand proud about the message we are sending,
solidarity speaks louder than words. WE ARE FLEET SVC AT USAIRWAYS AND WE HAVE A VOICE.

"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"!

WASN'T THAT YOUR IAM LEADERSHIP'S CHANT AT THE RALLY ON THE MALL IN WASHINGTON A FEW MONTHS BACK?

HOW ABOUT ANOTHER RALLY FROM THE IAM MEMBERSHIP?

Anytime that we voted in the past, it was done on premisis, usually right in the breakroom. Making people go off the Airport grounds in order to vote keeps many away.

The utility workers were nothing but a bargining chip for the mechanics. Now the IAM wants to do the same thing with the rampers. I refuse to be that chip and will fight for what is rightfully ours to the bitter end. IMO the message is loud and clear.
Actually the ramp is doing the job utility shared for receipt and dispatch. So who used who, maint no longer does that job.

Why are so many on the West side such wusses? This management team has done NOTHING to change morale and has done a great job of creating an East vs West mentality. ALL of us in this industry AND this airline have subsidized management greed and ma/pa kettles fares for TOO long. This includes the west employees. It amazes me that when I hear comments that suggest it is appropriate to HAVE to work a second job to survive. If you all demand mediocrity, THAT is what you will get. Hell, that is what you have gotten!! Nobody is suggesting out of control raises, but ALL of you..East AND West deserve better!

Jeff Rusk has a college degree from the George Meany Center/Placid Harbor.

Not sure about the others, but hey timmy, don't let the facts get in your way.

1. There were never thousands of Utility working at US, at the height of employment it was around 700 systemwide, they were only staffed at mtc stations, which was 22 cities. They work on the planes, not sweeping floors.

2. Were you there at CCY? I was, along with the rest of the committee, the company never wanted to reach an agreement, all they wanted was to layoff and outsource which NO union could agree too. I was one of eight people, not the only person on the NC.

3. I voted NO, not "know", never took any money, did not take a voluntary furlough and left.

4. Don't let the facts get in your way!

I stand corrected and will tell everyone who reads this forum of my misrepresentation!!!!!

M&R Scope Reads as follows:

Base maintenance utility will be maintained. All other utility work and all
associated duties may be outsourced.

Here is where 700's Negotiating skills are brought to light.

Utility is NOT pushing a broom at the hangar because that was OUTSOURCED

Hold on here are facts in my way

The Company may outsource any and all work in the shop areas as described in attachment H

That is a wrecking ball worth of skattered facts in my way.

At least the Negotiating Committee you sat on gave a nay recommendation like you proudly voted.
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ - WRONG ANSWER

My interpretation is "You left your TRADE UNIONISM" hat at home

And Iwould dare say youleft the company on a high note

Can you not comprehend?

There was never a negotiated CBA.

The Judge Abrogated the CBA and the membership RATIFIED the Final Offer.

Too hard to understand?

Like I said comprehension problems, call me when you can actually use the thought process.

Once again, the Great One types away in another pitiful attempt to sound informed.

There is no George Meany Center/Placid Harbor. The George Meany Center is in Silver Spring. It houses the National Labor College. It is an AFL/CIO facility. It does offer degree programs.

The IAM has an educational facility in Placid Harbor. It is called the Winpisinger Education and Technology Center. While it has some accredited courses, I do not believe it offers degree programs, though I could be wrong. Some students go on to pursue degrees from the National Labor College.

Before you go spouting off about things it might be nice to actually know what you are talking about....for ONCE!

Don't let the facts get in your way.
What a bozo.
