PSA hates PDAs - bizarre and customer unfriendly

Bingo!! Power tripping seems to be a popular passtime with PSA flight attendants. Not only do they do this with PDA's, but they can be complete A-holes when it comes to cabin baggage. Lighten up PSA boys and girls. Life isn't that hard.
Really, it isn't.
I agree with you are f/a are way over the top with this issue.

You're the same idiot that is immediately on your phone when the plane lands to tell your ugly daughter the plane has landed safely and you'll be home for dinner. Obviously talking as loud as possible so the entire plane knows how important you are. Get a life and stay off the planes, we don't want people like you.

^^Hilarious^^

So PSA in cooperation with the Feds implements the no carry-on policy. FAs are taught not to let "X or Y-types" of bags on the plane. If they do allow said bags and are caught they will be disciplined. Therefore they do not let a passenger bring that type of bag aboard. Does that behavoir qualify as "over the top"? I'm trying to understand the meaning of that quote.

FAs don't write policy.

As far as power-tripping FAs and such. Of course there are such things. Just as there are power-tripping pilots, gate agents, TSA employees, Subway sandwich artists, etc... This attitude isn't a PSA thing. It's a people thing.

Bottom line is: If you're a pr**k you're a pr**k, regardless

My money says that announcement is made so that they have less to clean up on/during a turn around....

No, they actually said that its a new FAA regulation that you cant have anything in there at all. Ive heard other people say it about Republic too, so its not a one off thing. But why would they be different than every other airline?

As a customer service agent there are all kind of policies and procedures that all 8 of the contract and wholly own carriers do that are an inconvenience or have no significance.

Having once worked for US Airways, I was honestly surprised at the lack of cooperation with the Wholly Owned airlines when I came to work for PSA. Even though U owns PSA, there is practically no overlap on any operational issues. It's just like it sounds...two completely seperate entities. Just because U does it one way, doesn't mean they assist PSA or Piedmont to do the same thing. Especially if it costs money. We at PSA are our own airline and have to deal with the FAA as a stand alone carrier, with no assistance from U. There are many areas where commonality would be both efficient and sensible, but for whatever reason, there is no cooperation.

The ONLY thing different about MAA was our PAY!!! I know you know all about that Twice.

Actually, it goes a bit further including policies such as inflight oxygen, liquor, pets, etc... and yes, I know alot about the pay differences..lol

Are you coming back to mainline soon?

FAA can interpret or write regulations specific to one carrier's operating certificate.

On the topic of cell phones, it is airline and aircraft specific. I recall when American was one of the first to implement this, cell phones couldn't be used on certain aircraft types like the A300, as well as specific MD-80 airframes. It just took time and certification trials.

I don't know about magazines, but I will tell you that there is a new FAR which says that heavy objects, such as personal computers, may not be placed in the seat back pocket for taxi, takeoff, or landing. These rules usually arise after something has come out of the pocket, gone flying across the cabin, and injured someone.

As far as I know, magazines are ok, but have any of you seen this magazine called, In Style? It and Vanity Fair must weigh 10 lbs apiece! They should be secured in the o/h bin or under the seat also.
some F/A's need to get a life...
