We all need to wake up

Senator McCain, conflict of interest problem for you.
Hey pilot wanna-be.

What did I tell you about posting on this board?

I hear something is going down over at the CAL board.

Go bother them with your responses that don't add anything to the discussion.

4. Prater cannot and will not change even a comma in the decision. It is OUR award and we will enjoy it together.

Or separately so it seems, and I think that and decertification will drive the EC's action. They probably have no choice if they don't want US Airway's wage stagnation due to the Nicalou award and subsequent disunity to affect everyone or the possibility of losing a major from the organization which might be the proverbial pebble starting an avalanche.

The most likely scenario next week is they will hold this list and pass a continuing resolution as that is the nutless thing to do, and when does ALPA ever do anything other than take the easy path. Of course more delay in turning the list over increases the perception that ALPA views the list as a problem and will only deepen their problems and indecision.

Please stop with this decertification threat. The only thing you guys in the east have been able to do collectively is vote in LOA 93.

You will never, ever decertify ALPA.

Guaranteed.

Oh please. No other pilot within ALPA will shed a tear if you leave. So don't let the door knob hit you in the butt on the way out.

ALPA will not stall this indefinitely because they will face a major lawsuit from AWA. And their suit will have merit and probably be successful. The list will be forwarded after a few more formalities.

The East MEC and attorneys know this. have you read this yet???
MEC CODE-A-PHONE UPDATE - July 13, 2007

The following is a prepared statement from the law firm of Baptiste & Wilder:

The question has been asked, “Why did we name the America West MEC and America West MEC Chairman as defendants in our complaint challenging the Nicolau Award, instead of Nicolau himself or for that matter ALPA National?â€￾

Our dispute over seniority integration is with the AWA MEC, not ALPA National, in its present posture. Under ALPA Merger Policy, ALPA National oversees the process but is commanded to remain neutral in the underlying seniority dispute. ALPA was neither a disputant nor a party to the arbitration proceeding. Thus, ALPA National is not the real party in interest to an action to vacate the award. That is why it was not named as a defendant in the lawsuit.

Sounds like the threat of decertification was just a bunch of hot air. Your leadership is doing a horrible job managing your expectations.

Just curious: What do we get by way of compensation if the decert actually happens regardless of the "Guaranteed" warranty apparently now in place?..And what does that actually cover?...just Drive Train issues or the whole assembly?

Ah!..It's finally clear to me then  The true and actual task description for "leadership" is NOT to advance the group's cause via better work conditions, pay, respect for the profession, pensions, workable seniority integration, or otherwise provide ANY usefull services...it's merely to effect some degree of "managing your expectations." Spoken like a true Alpo Boy :D

The "leadership" part comes from your own MEC, not National, and should have been early on before the battle was lost. And yes, leaders should not only make sound tactical decisions and set realistic goals, but also manage the troops reasonably expected chance of success, rather than just send them to their certain death, waving the flag of unity. (ie: DOH at all cost... for those of you who may be slow on the uptake. )

Apparently, based on what your "leadership" seems to have been telling you, you get to staple the West pilots, and any other group you merge with at any point in the future, to the bottom of your list.

Count on it!

First of all, Nicolau did not "propose" anything. He Ruled on it. It's not a suggestion, it's a legal ruling by an arbitrator that you willingly agreed to submit to.

Secondly, the West did want to work out an agreement. But you guys did not, and forced the matter beyond the mediation phase and all the way to binding arbitration. Why do you keep ignoring/denying this fact?

Prater has no choice but to forward the list to the company.

767jetz,

Well don't go hanging your hat on the Nicolau Award pilgrim! And I wouldn't be so sure about Prater either.

For the record, I didn't agree to anything. But my take is you are referring to what the two parties agreed to. In which case was in principle to an accord of ALPA merger policy. That winning lottery ticket the west is holding is clearly not a reflection of said policy. And is being challenged in due process. You know, it just may be reasonable to assume that Nicolau is a person, and people make mistakes. And the East has every right to explore that. Which of course we are doing. Just as the west has every right to cling to the pipe dream that a two year guy has the right to overstep the 18 year guy.

Due process people. That's what is afoot. We all have Nicolau to thank for where we are, and neither side to blame.

Actually - both pilot neutrals agreed to the Award too. UAL & NWA don't see much wrong with it either.

Your name says it all - you were furloughed while the junior AWA guy was employed. Therefore you go behind him. It's not complicated. The fact that you were furloughed with 18 years of longevity is a problem that existed BEFORE the merger, and you would not have been recalled without the merger.

Lottery ticket?!?!? Having 25% of the East's list tacked onto the top is hardly a *win* for the West. The East getting 80% of the money in a joint contract is hardly a *win* for the West. Just because you're winning the whining contest doesn't mean that the West got ANYTHING.

In 24 months, you've gone from being furloughed with no hope of recall from a twice-bankrupt liquidating airline, to being recalled at a minimum of a 20% raise. West went from hiring mode to stagnation, and is a year past our amendable date. WHO won the lottery?

Cactus 737 - your answer is dead on. Great reply.

It does not matter whatever you sand dunes think you were awarded a moron would see through this abcess. Our guys will stick to there guns they lost plenty and this is the last hill for most of them. O.J. won his court trial and lost his Life in the end. I would never call on Prather to do the right thing he is another ALPA lap dog the likes of Beebe,Tosi,Pollock etc, etc. Does not matter what you in the East think at this point you lost and won but no one cares. You are all self-serving like your ALPA. This is one story that the knife will cut both ways.

Oh I hear their is an extensive list of folks who don't see much wrong. Captain Crunch, Col Sanders, Mr. Green Jeans, and Ed Clampit, to name a few.

Has the Wilson polling group called anyone out West yet? ;)
