PSA 900's Dead

The PSA MEC and PSA Management were/are very close to a deal. However, this negotiation has turned into a closed door battle between Duane Woerth and Doug Parker. DW wants to score a victory before the ALPA election and DP doesn't want to give up the first nonconsessionary contract of any legecy carrier since 9-11.

What is with this guy, Doug Parker? If this guy only had a clue as to what the he11 he was doing. Let's think about how much revenue these 900's would generate for PSA? Let's think about the growth of the airline by adding the 900's. And in his eyes, growth SHOULD equal dollars 'for the shareholders' as we all know he's so worried about. WTF! And if this guy only knew that PSA's pilot group WOULD HAVE AGREED TO ANYTHING MORE than what was offered. Not to mention boosting morale just a little! We all know he's not concerned with that either.

This f***in guy needs to get off his A S S and take a look at what's really going on within HIS airline. Leading an airline is not just looking at the spread sheets and seeing where he can save a dollar or two. No no, nevermind the 900's. Let's keep operating inefficient 200's and keep our five year upgrades. I'm sure our F/O's love living on 19K a year  Unbelievable

Regards,

Peanut (what i'll be eating for dinner tonight. and tomorrow night. and the night after that)

How about putting anything over 70 seats right back on Mainline, where they should ALWAYS have been, and stop outsourcing USAirways jobs?

Five years to upgrade? I'd go slit my wrists if I were you.

I agree... Anything over 70 Seats should be at Mainline!! But if you are gonna deploy these 900's it would make more sense to have them at a WO'ed then at some contract carrier that will make a profit off of us and the along with that give us crappy service!

Its too funny that we contract with Mesa and others!! They fly for how many airlines? And if one of there United flights Cx's guess what? They positive space them on US Airways... Thus taking revenue for us, while aiding a competing airline!!!

You see YOU'RE MISSING THE WHOLE POINT. This is the way it is. The days of mainline having all the big iron is OVER. So let's go about this in a logical way.

Here's logic: the company decides how much it can spend to operate these planes, they make an offer to pilots who refuse, so they move on to another group that won't.

I don't care what you say!!! US Airways would have made more money giving the the 900's to PSA!!! They own the company, all profits stay in house!! Its all managements ploy to lower the wages!! Look at Delta.... They will soon be done with Mesa... They were brought on to lower the wages of ASA and Comair.
This airline industry is a joke! I salute the PSA folks for telling DP to stick it. At some point the line has to be drawn on large A/C...
I fly for PDT, and each day I see a Mesa RJ 900 with a FO in it that makes 19k it makes me sick! That A/C replaced a 737 and jobs!!! Jobs that we all want to have someday!!! Sad.. Just Sad!! Management lines there pockets and laugh, they dangle the big plane fast upgrade in our face....
If you read 'Flying the Line'.. its the same stuff over and over!!!
Okay.. Makers Mark on the rocks... Here I come!!!

Mainline got the E190 back on the property by offering rates below Chautauqua/Republic's. I would hope that ALPA will continue to do what it takes to get the hulls back on the property.

Work on the pay later. Get the airplanes, secure them with ironclad scope language, and then put that little section of the contract in a safe and call it non-negotiable in the future.

Never, ever, give away jobs again. Bad ALPA, Bad!

Does anyone know how the rates compare to Jetblue. I have heard US is slightly higher. Can anyone confirm?

The actual hourly rate on AAA's 190 is a little higher than Jetblue. However, at Jet blue, anything over guarantee (70 hrs) is paid time and a half. So 2 pilots flying 70 hrs per month, AAA is higher, but on an average month of 85 hrs, Jetblue pay is higher by a good bit...

I COULD NOT AGREE MORE WITH THIS STATEMENT! According to Jim (Mr. Boeing Boy), the deadline for the 900's with Bombardier has been extended until October 5th, 2006. Anybody hearing any wispers on a deal getting done here in the next week or two? I don't think these negotiations are over yet.....

Dude!! Give it up already. I mean seriously, it IS NOT going to happen! Are you banking your entire future on little old PSA getting 900's?? Some of you guys get going on these big hopes and rumors sometimes and let it affect your world. For real, man, relax. Fly those 200's and 700's, be happy that you have a flying job at all, and wait for the MANY, MANY upcoming retirements at the major carriers. The stress aint worth it, and even a 900 still aint much of an airplane. You will get where you're headed, but not by way of time in a PSA-flown 900.

N924PS Speaks the truth. 900's belong at mainline...and 700's too for that matter.
