PSA 900's Dead

I knew this would come up. I've been flying the a/c since we got it...and I have yet to hear of any way to "disengage" the ACARS. If anyone knows how to do it, I'd be interested in finding out how it is done. I honestly don't think there is a way to do it.

Not sure who you work for but if you happen to fly a CRJ...A friend of a friend of a friend told me that if you make the flight number, time, and employee numbers all 0 (zeros) and make the origin and destination "OOO" (that's three letter o's) then the ACARS won't clock in or out. If you do that you have to call in ALL of your times as ACARS won't block you in or out. Now I personally would never do such a thing but I've heard it works. :ninja:

Putting in 0000 for the flight number and the departure/destination data on the flight init page will prevent the ACARS from getting time data. The problem is you can't get W&B info with out that set up so if *one* was to spoof the ACARS you have to do it after you get your performance data. Also, in flight you can reset the data and it will capture your on and in times.

On a similar note... Was waiting at the north hold line in CLT last night for outbound to move Dad around and Mesa called for push with an out time of :35. Current time was 21:50 local.

Man, I wish I was cool like that.

I have no idea what the 4th quarter numbers will look like. <snip>
Off the subject of CRJ-900's or tricking ACARS, but since I had posted the First Call consensus I thought I'd post their new update .....

4Q06 consensus $0.97/share, down from $1.01 (about $85 million)
- high estimate $1.13/share, down from $1.50 (about $100 million)
- low estimate $0.75/share, unchanged (about $68 million)

As before, these are net before special items.

Nostradamus,

Captain Beebe's famous, "Not one nickle, not one job" line was spoken in 2001, prior to 09/11, when he was still the MEC chairman.

Correct me if I am wrong. Was it not under Beebe's watch that the Rat Jets were approved. And as a reward he got to go to national.

The agreement between US and Bonbardier have been filed with the BK court so, as you will see, this may or may not end up being the final word on any new CRJ's....

All current firm orders (41 aircraft), reconfirmable orders (90 aircraft), and options (94 aircraft) are cancelled.

US will have the right to purchase an undisclosed number of "Purchase Right Aircraft" (CRJ200/700/900) for a period of 5 years, providing however, that ( 1 ) the model in question is still being produced by Bombardier, ( 2 ) the delivery schedule is satisfactory to US, and ( 3 ) a price is agreed to.

So, while all orders and options have been cancelled, there is still the possibility that PSA (or PDT) could still see some more CRJ's.
