Pilot Furloughs

The problem for pilots are numerous but the main problem for pilots and AMT's is that people are willing to work for cheap wages.There are people that would fly for AA/AE for free just to build time.I'm talking about pilots with 1500 hours already willing to fly for free.In the AMT ranks we have people with A&P's that will take a job with AA for $9.00/hr just to get "flight benefits". I cannot blame AA/AE for trying to get labor for free so the blame lies in our fellow comrades willing to work for dirt cheap wages and benefits.This type of mindset will never allow the pilots and mechanics to achieve the proper compensation for the amount of responsibility that we have.Having said this the AMR management doesn't give a crap about its employees,just the bottom line for themselfs and their shareholders.This airline was heading in the right direction until Don Carty took over and he wrecked the airline in half the time it took Robert Crandall to build it.I have never seen the mistrust between AA management and employees at this level in 18+ years service.I use to have a career with AA now its just a job.

The industry is not much different from 70 years ago. Short term, numbers obsessed management on the backs of distracted workers who have other issues in life to worry about.
